Bullying and The Aftermath
Added 2023-02-01 16:59:33 +0000 UTCToday we dropped a pod on The Glory Part 1. Besides me sharing my questionable internet skills…we also get into how bullying has impacted our own lives.
Where do you land on dramas that depict cruel-but unfortunately realistic-bullying? Is it triggering from your lives experiences? A hard pass? A psychological curiosity? Share in the thread…

I have a worse time watching bullying now I’m a mum. There’s a bullying vignette in Tomorrow which I found really hard to watch so I had to fast forward. Similar thing happened in Taxi Driver, this was on disabled people being forced to work on salt farms (and is based on a true story). I also found the many bullying scenes in Uncanny Counter hard and I don’t think they were as bad, comparatively. So I do watch dramas with bullying but am on the fence with The Glory, I am also not a fan of SHK. I’m gonna see how people react to season 2 before deciding if I’ll watch as well

The bullying scenes were really hard to watch (and maybe I closed my eyes in a few scenes) but I found the production and acting to be excellent. But what I wonder is if the bullying in South Korean schools is really this bad ? Because so many dramas focus on it. Thankfully I never experienced it or witnessed anything so terrible while I was growing up, but I understand why so many people would avoid watching this drama, it could be very triggering.
