Short Drama Palate Cleansers (Amy)

Hey all! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Just popping in to quickly gush about Kiss Goblin (Megan has watched it too). Remind me which one of you recommended this one because it was pure joy, so THANK YOU! I've watched a couple other short dramas, the BL drama Color Rush (a Megan find) and Imaginary Cat, which Megan and I did for a pod that Lea couldn't attend. It was a drama we thought would be pretty silly, but because we love cats and Yoo Seung-ho, we dove right in...and both of us CRIED. LOL. This is all just to say that you can pack a lot of story into short little episodes, and when it's tough to figure out what full-length drama to watch next, I appreciate a little palate cleanser. So, who has some more recommendations of feel-good short dramas/mini series for when we need a quick refresh?

I’m making a plug for Color Rush — I love this weird little drama a lot —Lia

I haven’t heard of many of these so I’m definitely adding them to my list! 😀

Ok, thanks for the tip! :-)

I loved To My Star! They are doing another season too! -Megan

Antonina, I watched Adult Trainee on a site called Dramanice, per Jodi's rec. I did not have any issues with the free site except the address apparently changes a bit every so often. I did not see all the episodes on Youtube. Tho even the clips on youtube with Ryeoun worth checking out😉

Oh yay, my meeting was canceled so now I get to focus on something important--Kdramas. Ok, here are a few more I have enjoyed, and like the ones above, all are under the "Bite-Size"/"Web-Drama" category on Viki: Gaduri Restaurant; How to be Thirty; Timing (a little sad but lovely; you may recognize actor Yoon Jong-hoon from Reply 1994); Wednesday 3:30 PM. I have seen some others that didn't stick with me as much as the list above, but were still enjoyable. Thanks for the recs above and the advice to also check out YouTube! Have a good week, everyone....

Others not focused on high school setting: To My Star (BL; I believe has received some critical acclaim; Viki has mini-drama format and feature film format--recommend the latter if you have time); You Drive Me Crazy (Kim Seon-ho fans--he's the ML!); Thumping Spike (sports/romance; actor Song Jae-rim/Jae-lim has a cute Instagram where he mostly posts cat pics). Okay, I have a few more but I have to go to a meeting. Will post the rest soon. :-)

Thank you all for the recommendations! I have been watching a lot of mini dramas this year -- I love the term palate cleanser--very apt! I will do a few separate posts. High school-themed dramas: Light on Me (BL); Best Mistake 1 & 2 (3 coming soon); Blue Birthday (time travel); currently watching User Not Found.

I recently watched a BL called The Tasty Florida and it was reallllly cute. I can't remember how many episodes (I think 8) and they were 10-12 minutes. -Megan

Okay clearly I was unaware of the wealth of K drama minis on YouTube!

I watched Who Kissed Me...quite cute!

Yes to Adult Trainee! Also a show called Who Kissed Me, all episodes can be found on YouTube and another called When You Love Yourself, also on YouTube.

Jodi Guira

I second Splash Splash Love (very short time travel historical)! Also recommend BL dramas "Where Your Eyes Linger" and "Mr. Heart."
