THANK YOU for the dramas we might have missed! (Amy)

Hi everyone! As mentioned earlier this week, thanks to Grace, Lia, Megan, and I have watched/are watching Go Back Couple and cannot wait to deep dive this one! In the spirit of the recent Thanksgiving holiday over in the U.S., I wanted to share some gratitude to those who have recommended dramas that I might have missed otherwise and see what drama gems you found thanks to someone else's recommendation!

First and foremost, thank you to Lia for sending me on this journey and telling me to watch Crash Landing on You, even when my first reaction was WHAT? A TORNADO BLOWS HER, UNINJURED, INTO N. KOREA??? Yes, Amy. She lands, uninjured, in N. Korea, and thus begins one of the greatest love stories you will ever witness.

Thank you, Megan, for uncovering the gem that is I Am Not a Robot and insisting Lia and I watch. And also, even though I'd already found my never ending love for Lee Joon-gi in Flower of Evil, thank you for pointing me in the direction of Lawless Lawyer and the greatest villain/hero pairing of Ahn Oh-joo (and his blue toe socks) and Bong Sang-pil.

There are many more not in the photo like Hospital Playlist (Lia's rec) and Into the Ring (Megan's rec) and I'm sure many more to come. And, sometimes recs are not gems, and that's okay too. But now it's time to share!

What are some drama gems that you might have missed had someone else not told you to watch???

THANK YOU for the dramas we might have missed! (Amy)

I just thought of one to add to this. People donโ€™t talk much about Oh My Venus but I thought it was so fun and charming.

So I just finished Go Back Couple and I really enjoyed it, lots of tissues as well! Thanks for the rec and look forward to the deep dive!

2 of my favorite dramas were both ones that I had no interest in at all until buzz started popping up in the Kdrama community after the 1st couple episodes (back then, mainly centered at the DramaBeans website). Reply 1997, and I Can Hear Your Voice. Also pretty much all of my cdrama watchs have been recs from the DWASOK podcast. Go Ahead, and Put Your Head on My Shoulder are definitely my favorite CDramas.

HEALER! We all loved that one so much. I buddy watched it with Megan, and that was when I learned that Megan's Kdrama binge game was STRONG. And we are all about crossover podcasting now that we've done it successfully, so who knows what might happen in the future? ;) (Amy)

I've been eyeing this one for a while! You had me at "unreasonably compelling!" (Amy)

I was SO thrilled when you finally dove in to Flower of Evil. That drama did things to my emotions that I am still not over. LOL. Love it so much! (Amy)

Aw yay! So happy you've enjoyed some of our recs! And love that you enjoyed King. I did too! It was messy, and I'll never be over the promise from episode 11 that was not delivered, but that was the drama that made me fall for Lee Min-ho, and for that I am eternally (see what I did there?) grateful. ;) (Amy)

Healer, Crowned Clown, and Come and Hug Me are three of my favorite kdramas that were recommended to me by friends on the Dramas with a Side of Kimchee Discord group. I will be forever grateful to have watched all three. Come and Hug Me, especially, was a show I never would have found by myself. P.S. You and the DWASOK gals should do a crossover episode together! ๐Ÿ‘€

Chocolate. Netflix somehow convinced my friend to watch Chocolate while I was watching Crash Landing on You. Even though I couldn't convince her to watch CLOY, she was right about Chocolate being unreasonably compelling watch. Centered around food, with a supporting cast of hospice workers, and - you guessed - a childhood tie-in, it was a beautiful watch that took some very odd turns.

Definitely I am not a Robot, which I watched following a Megan rec on the FB group we shared and Flower of Evil which I would probably avoided as it didn't sound like my kind of thing (when it actually totally is) which you guys rec'd

Sarah @afternoonaasks

I would not have watched When the Camellia Blooms or Misaeng without recs from you all, and they are among my top 10 dramas. Thank you!!! Also watched 100 Days My Prince and The King: Monarch Eternal bc of recs from my friend Robert, and loved those. Very thankful for everyone's recs โค๏ธ
