Status of everything (including October 2021 calendar)
Added 2021-10-03 16:12:05 +0000 UTCHey my good folks ! I'm so sorry I couldn't update you sooner on my whereabouts, to be perfectly honest I was hoping to get any substantial good news to reassure everyone. Alas, it's not happening yet.
The house:
We can't live in it longer than a few days a month because it still reeks like hell, we go there only when we need some tools or privacy, but it's not habitable as of today. We still have a lot of humidity to extract, the renovation hasn't started yet either because the insurance is holding the funds until they've adjusted some tiny detail in our declaration. We're calling everyday to get this going faster, but to no avail yet.
On the plus side, we've found some very good deals with the constructors so we'll have a much more beautiful and functional house when this is all over. We're estimating the work to be done by March 2022. I've posted the plans for the new kitchen on discord if you're curious !
Where we live :
As of today, we're living at my parents-in-law's place. We thought this would be temporary and we're still looking for flats, but for now it's the best solution and the only one we can afford. We've installed ourselves a bit better with a desk both in the office and the bedroom. Why in the bedroom ? Because I don't have a lot of privacy in the office and when it comes to coding it's all good but you can imagine drawing what I draw in front of my husband's parents is not happening. This means I can resume working full time more officially.
The help :
We've received a lot of help along the way and I would like to thank everyone for your support, especially of you patrons who stuck around despite the absence of new content. I was very worried I would never recover from this financially and would have to put my career on hold for an undetermined period of time, so thank you for that.
I've also reached out to the organisation that I'm registered to as an independant, they've given me some funds to compensate my forced interruption. Which is very welcomed since I lost a third of my passive income and it will take me months to catch up to my work (and therefore be able to accept new commission/sponsors.)
Incubus Realms :
A word of reassurance first, I'm still heavily working on the game. Since you guys had to wait so long for the udpate, I wanted to make it even better so I've reached out to you on the discord to know what you would like. Not everything will be properly integrated in the 1.2, but it the framework will be there. To get you hyped, here are a few changes planned, you can see what will be present in the coming update in the brackets :
- Customisation system [Framework and a few option to showcase the system] : Will allow you to change the appearance of your character in game (some changes might not appear in all scenes), ranging from hairstyle to hair colour, beards, bodyhair density, eye colour, skin colour, clothing (interchangeable patterns and colours), accessories, tail, etc. This system will also allow for more progressive transformations (TF) as I will be able to tune the character's attributes individually (ears, nose, eyes, fur, mouth, etc.). This system will allow a more complex system of equipment to exist later on.
- Exploration system [Yuvee exploration phases and long journeys] : Will allow for more interesting mechanics to take place such as moving Yuvee around a dark room to reveal its content, careful where you send him though ! Consequences ahead <3 Endurance will be needed longer hikes like crossing an entire forest, you will also need to be wary you have a good map or you might end up somewhere unexpected. Random encounters will have a chance to happen during these journeys.
- Conversation system [Just 3 or 4 social moves to showcase and dynamic greetings for the main cast] : Will introduce (properly) "social moves" which are a bunch of moves you may make during a conversation with any given NPCs, assuming it's not a cutscene. They differ from reaction command in the sense they do not require a specific line of text from the NPC to be activated. A few examples would be : Give a (physical) compliment, Slap their ass, Share a kink, Blackmail, etc. They will be separated in categories (Flattery, Flirt, Humour, Share Interest, Intimidation and Sensitivity) and levels. NPCs and player will have gauges of Attention and Confidence, these will be used in a variety of ways such as having to pay with your confidence to ask NPCs risky questions and/or moves. NPCs will be allowed to interrupt you to ask you questions or tackle topics they want to talk about when you're exhausting their attention. Dynamic greetings (sponsored by Fortello) will flavour the NPCs dialogue by having them greet you and bid you goodbye according to the relationship you hold towards them, main NPCs will have 20 different lines of dialogue varying from Respectful, Submissive, Disrespectful, Friendly, Lovely, Sexual and Generic tailor made to reveal more of their character.
- Thought corruption side stories [Rohan:Lvl1, Victor:Lvl1]: Relive the memories of NPCs that reside in your sanctuary. Beware not to get trapped in them ! A good opportunity to learn more about the lore and backstory of some characters !
- New explorable areas [The Forest, the mines, caves and fey shrine]: In general more to do and more to explore with a revision of previous areas. This includes : The Rat's lair, the Guards' quarters, the Courtyard, the Milking Pods corridor, the Control Room, The bridge to the mines, The Mines (Entrance, Elevator, Deeper Mines, Goblins' lair, shrine), the Uncharted Caves (Preamble, Beast's Retreat, Caveworms'nest), Bear's den), The Forest (main hub, uncharted path)
- New NPCs [Hunter, Victor, Farmer, Kristof, Felsic, Hermit, Joseph(Dog), Rats(group), generic Goblin, Gargoyle, all in the form of sketches and with limited interactions, will be developed for later updates] : The Hunter is an ape like creature that hunts down fugitives, he carries them back in their cell in pitchflower like backpack. He's a slave of the Toad King, just like the Guardian. The Farmer is a minotaur willingly serving the Toad King, he handles the milking of prisoners under Michel's supervision, he's basically his right arm. Victor is a lost police officer that unlike you has been tricked into being imprisoned. Kristof and Felsic found themselves exploring too deep within the caves and do not know their way back. Joseph is an antropomorphic dog who protect Michel, he recognises anyone naked as being a prisoner, including slaves of the Toad King. You may find conversing with the many rats of the sewers more interesting than you thought, provided you understand their squeeking. Goblins on the other end aren't talkative at all, it's almost like they can't talk or their forgot how, they will show you what they want if you move closer though. The Gargoyle is a curious entity that varies is size and shape, it guards a place under the Toad King's curse.
- And More coming after the 1.2 : Magic/alchemy system, Encyclopaedia, LogBook, Skilltrees (Knowledge, Exploration, Social, Esoteric,...), The toad village, the frog village, the Antropomorphic temple, the swamp, the player's house, ...
But "Ghu'", you might ask, "when are you ever going to release that 1.2 you've been hyping us about. You've given so many deadlines and failed to deliver any." to which I say, rude D:< , first of all, but also fair, I know I was near completion before all the flood happened and you might be wondering why it's taking so long now. Well, partly because I've lost all momentum and been unable to work normally for the past months (not just physically but also mentally I was very depressed and still suffers from mood swings), another part is definitely me being waaay too optimistic at estimating the time a task is going to take, also me not taking care of my health by not sleeping is not really working with all the stress I've had. But really, the main reason is that I took the opportunity to give it more thought and do a better job. We've talked about things like the customisation system and it was something I realised I couldn't push back anymore or else I'd need to backtrack on more and more content of the game. This forced interruption made me lose all sense of urgency, all I could do is rest for while. But I'm doing a lot better now, I feel motivated again and inspired. So, without further ado:
The 4th of October 2021 --------> Streams will return !
The 20th of October 2021 ---------> 1.2 (alpha) of Incubus Realms : Escapism !
The 31th of October 2021---------> 1.201 Bugfix and Halloween themed customisation update !

Being a new creator, the lack of experience is quite terrifying in these situations... Not knowing what to do, who to call, what service to complain to, how to formulate a demand, it's a set of skills I've never been taught and it built a lot of stress to figure things out on our own. So while I don't want to take any more delays, I'm happy that most of you show patience and kindness. It's nice to hear it from the mouth of another creator too, it makes me feel less lost.

Heck, I was worried you guys wouldn't have a home at all! :( I'm prepared to give as much time as you need simply because I have faith in you. Take as much time as you need. I understand what it's like to be a content creator on Patreon and have real life hit you hard. I deal with epilepsy all the time and it frustrates me constantly when I can't make as much art as I'd planned on doing.
