We're on holiday!

Well, sort of...

Hey everyone!

As you know, Pino is in Japan, and we, are back in Montreal until February, to spend time with family and friends. Some of you have been asking, "What's next for hundredrabbits?

Well, we're back to the drawing board, researching the things we will need to know and need to have, to sail across the Pacific back from Japan to Alaska — And what our goals will be once we get back to the west coast of Canada.

Various experimental projects keep us up at night, some have to do with compressed air, others with LoRa electronics, and other with Lipo batteries.. More on this next month.

Devine is taking part in Inktober, using Noodle to draw with. We are both experimenting with it a lot, re-assigning shortcuts and adding new features as needed. Drawing with it everyday, we see firsthand what features are unnecessary, and which shortcuts feel more natural. At the end of this month, we should have a stable tool.

Noodle is an experiment in building software that can do away with a maximum amount of features all the while remaining somewhat usable.

I, Rekka, am still working on my comic Circa. The scope of the project was too big to start with, and so I plan on doing a short form version. This, I think, will help me develop the main two characters, and will help me find a style I am comfortable with. I am contemplating doing the work by hand, in an attempt at spending less time on the computer, but also, because I believe in prioritizing low-power alternatives — drawing by hand is as low-power as it gets.

We have a small platformer-type game project in mind, using Rekka's Polycat as the main character. For now, we have shelved Markl, it doesn't mean we'll never make anything with it, it just means we need to put it aside until we can figure out what to do. We want to continue to make small games, and Markl is still too complex for us to handle. More info on that soon.

As you can see, we're plenty busy!

It's nice to be back here, we'll experience our first winter in 4 years! We are looking forward to it, but that may be because we don't remember how cold it can get here — Montreal has very harsh winters.

If you have questions/suggestions for any of our projects, don't hesitate to ask! We will continue to make videos during our time here, but they will be more project-oriented.

As always, thanks for keeping us afloat. Because of your support and attention, we can focus on putting our work out there, online, for all to see and learn from. We cannot thank you enough for that.

Best,
Rek & Dev
