BEHIND THE SCENES: JUNE COPIC CHALLENGE

June featured another OC of mine, Atsuko Akiyama. Her pose was based on the photo seen in this set, and the sky was inspired by a photo I took one evening. Fun fact, though--the photo was run through a filter! Originally I had planned on a more blue/blue-violet sky, but after running the filter on the photo, I liked that result more! I also felt that it balanced the overall palette as there's plenty of blues and purples as it is.
The legally distinct Waffle House, "Waffle Shack", is another little tell that this is loosely based on the region I live in. As with every Copic challenge, I include the full "bouquet" of markers used for this piece.

Thank youuuu! I'm honestly super proud of this one. When I took that photo and ran that filter over it, it really felt like this was the right choice and I'm glad that you pointed that out in the execution! 😊
