POP'N TEKKEN: ROUND 01
Added 2025-06-08 19:30:01 +0000 UTCLast year, I created a special illustration of Tekken's Lucky Chloe using an art style that was unlike anything I had done but one I wanted to try (the second image in this set)--the art style is based on Konami's Pop'n Music games, a fun little rhythm game from their BEMANI line of rhythm games (some of their more famous ones including Dance Dance Revolution, Beatmania, and Para Para Paradise). I had always appreciated the art style and wanted to try my hand at it, so I made Lucky Chloe last year since I thought she'd suit the style.
I received a lot of positive feedback, and as such it's encouraged me to design more Tekken characters in this style! To start off, we have Hwoarang, Christie Monteiro, Violet, and Ling Xiaoyu.
A note about Xiaoyu--I originally had a different face in mind, but felt it didn't really fit who Xiaoyu was, so I had changed the design. I figured I'd show y'all what I originally had planned in addition to what I actually went with.
These will be made into stickers! Another round of Tekken characters are in the works which include Eliza, Lili, Lars (natch), Alisa, and Dragunov. Characters from other fighting games such as Virtua Fighter, Rival Schools, and Fighting EX Layer are in the works. Perhaps my OCs will show up, too?
