Email List?

Before I go on, please watch this short video (it's CGP Grey, talking about his problem with YouTube).
As you all probably know, about a month ago Patreon blocked me (for a few hours) because a story I wrote violated their TOS. Patreon is not to blame for this, they did what they had to do. Ever since that day, I started working on a website where I can publish whatever I want.
Watching the video I thought to myself, perhaps I should look into working with an Email list. I want to hear what you think about that idea. please vote in the poll, and consider leaving a comment to let me know what you think.

2019-12-04 06:11:02 +0000 UTCMost people get so many emails anymore it's almost not worth doing anything email related. It more than likely would get discarded before anyone even read it. At most I would have it just say "hey something new is posted" just so people get a notification that you added new content. This way they dont have to take a long time to read the message, and will at least know they have something they can check out later when they have more free time. Plus you then have to deal with email firewalls and whitelisting and etc. There is a lot to emailing anything anymore because it has become so engrained in daily life.
