Hey again guys,
This part of the IC update will focus on new animation and character work that TK, TMX, and Limbo have done over the past few weeks!
TK helped a lot with the world map last month, so I distracted him quite a bit from his rigging work. He did however redesign all of Onyx's joints and bends using a technique called slide joints, which you can check out in the video above. This technique enables her joints to slide as they bend, thus preserving volume more realistically (as opposed to crumpling like an empty tube). To improve them further, he added a layer of corrective morphs. Check out the video above for the results :D.

I already mentioned a few days back that Mr. Kittyhawk got the H system to me, but I wanted to show some evidence of the light at the end of the tunnel :D. I've yet to dig into it, but getting it ready for the next release is our main priority this week. Barring any critical bugs that may pop up and slow things down, a release next week is looking very possible.




TMX has finished the low poly model / UVing / rig for the Splicer Looter, and has gotten started on some of his basic animations. So far he has a walk cycle, run cycle, and a "panic" animation for when he's fleeing from Onyx in terror :D.


Last but not least we have a new enemy design from Limbo -- this time a humanoid biomonster :D. The original idea was for this guy to be a more original / stylized design of the Corruptor from MATM, but I think he evolved into something more menacing than that -- maybe even boss potential.
