Blue Star Episode 3 & Liz Video - Audio Double-Update!

So unfortunately I don't have much forward progress to share with you all. But I can at least share the state of things.

Blue Star Update

Last week, I made a public update explaining that Innie and I are working on the getting all of the audio in place for the BSE3 sex-scene. I noted how she's recorded over 2 hours of audio for it, and that the time, she had processed half of it and gotten it to me.

In the week since, she has processed and gotten the rest of the audio to me, and it is all installed. Almost. There is a single line she missed, and it's unfortunately an important one - it sparks a dialogue between them that motivates an escalation from the shown scene to where the Shadowbroker takes the lead, which is where the intensity really kicks up.

At the same time, I realized that there were actually two entire non-dub segments in this sex scene that I entirely skipped over. And so, I got her those lines to record at the same time as her recording that one line.

She has gotten all of that audio recorded (about 12.5 minutes of raw audio, she reported to me), and is currently processing it to get it to me. We were hoping to get it to me by Wednesday, but unfortunately things didn't work out that way.

Liz Video Update

Since I needed to wait around for Innie to get that last dub line recorded, I decided to work on the Liz video again. Recall that it will be what I work on next month, with aspirations to finally release the fucking thing.

Naturally, since I was doing dub-work anyways, I decided to work on the dub audio for the Liz video. Innie got it to me a long while back, and my raw listens to it suggested it was pretty high quality.

And it is. No question, the quality and performance is great.

The problem is it doesn't fit. At all.

The synchronization is entirely off, sometimes drifting as far as over half a second. And on top of that, the only non-dialogue / sex-sounds take I have is too short. By nearly a fifth of the total lengths.

You can see that reflected in the bottom picture, the top audio track. But then, what's the bottom track?

That's the audio after I sped it up 11%, to get the audio mostly in-sync. This minimized the sync, but it still drifted, anywhere from a single frame (1/24 a second) to 5 frames (about a fifth of a second). And, of course, speeding up the audio only made the "it's too short" problem even worse.

And all of this is just the first sequence. Try to imagine the enormity of what I mean when I say that the first sequence was the best of the five.

So, the Liz dub is entirely untenable right now. Innie needs to rerecord all of it before I can work on it. But what about the rest of the project?

The video is split into 4 sections. Sections 1 and 4 are the standard pre-sex and post-sex narratives; Section 2 is a semi-sex extended tease segment; and then Section 3 is the classic sex scene.

This is the breakdown of the audio I have for the 4 sections:

• Section 1: 100%
• Section 2: 40%
• Section 3: 0% (due to need to rerecord)
• Section 4: 0%

Yeah. Not good.

So the people who keep fucking nagging me about "omg you've had the Liz video finished for months now and you're just keeping it to yourself" on Tumblr can shove a cactus up their ass.

It's even less finished than I thought it was, and I already knew it wasn't even close to finished.
