ep.18 our permit story

Well, folks, it's finally here! After almost five months of back and forth, we finally have the green light to keep going! Tune in this week to hear about what it takes to get a permit, including all the costs and intricacies involved. Last but not least, we answer some questions: Are we keeping the glass? When does the demolition stop? Why are we throwing out so much lumber?

Hi Nick! Your guess about when double-pane came out was a bit off. In 1978, my parents replaced all of the single pane windows of our 1920's house with double pane Pella windows. I did a bit of research and learned that in the 1940's, some US homes were being built with double pane windows. By the 1970's, double-pane windows were common in houses. πŸ˜€

Listener question: You mentioned possible future projects like a cabin. Would love to hear more about that. Congrats on the permit!
