The Incubus System Chapter 1128. Left Out

The Incubus System Chapter 1128. Left Out

I used my teleportation skills and appeared in the kitchen. The dim light from the fridge illuminated the quiet space as I casually checked the kitchen counter before opening the fridge to look for food. My mind was still spinning from everything that had happened, but right now, all I wanted was something to eat.

And then, out of nowhere—

"Are you done? Or is this just a break?"

I gasped, nearly slamming the fridge door shut as I spun around. Celia. She stood there with her arms crossed, staring at me like I had just been caught sneaking out after curfew.

"You shouldn’t sneak up on me like that," I muttered, placing a hand over my chest as if that would slow down my heartbeat.

She shrugged, completely unfazed. "You shouldn’t be so easy to sneak up on."

I sighed, rubbing my temple before turning back to the fridge. "Should be done. I don’t want to be the talk of the neighborhood. We should do it somewhere nicer."

"Yup," Celia said, hopping onto the counter like she had been expecting this answer. "I was just about to say that. You guys are so noisy."

I huffed and leaned against the fridge. "Thanks."

She smirked. "You’re welcome."

After a moment, I turned to her with a deadpan expression. "Where’s my snack?"

"Oh, that," she said as if she had just remembered. She reached over and grabbed a plate from the counter, holding it out to me with a completely straight face.

I stared at it in confusion. Five hard-boiled eggs. Just… eggs.

"Eggs?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

She nodded like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Yeah."

I narrowed my eyes. "Why?"

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Because you just came buckets for like three hours straight. You need protein. Eggs are the best."

I opened my mouth to argue but quickly realized I had nothing to counter that with. Damn it. She was right.

I let out a long, suffering sigh and took the plate from her. "I hate that this makes sense."

She grinned, kicking her legs slightly as she watched me. "I’m always right."

I picked up one of the eggs and peeled it absentmindedly, still trying to process everything. Celia watched me with a curious expression, tilting her head slightly.

"So," she said slowly, "are they still fighting?"

I shook my head. "Nope. I think I finally found the best way to get them to stop." I glanced at my cock, pointing it with my gaze.

Celia blinked before realization dawned on her face. "Oh my God."

I popped a piece of the egg into my mouth and chewed. "Yup."

She covered her face with her hands. "That’s… I mean, I knew they’d stop fighting eventually, but—"

"But not like that?" I finished for her.

"Exactly," she groaned.

I smirked. "Hey, I’m just happy they’re finally getting along."

She gave me a deadpan look. "That’s one way to put it."

I finished the first egg and reached for another one. "So, what have you been up to while I was, you know… making peace?"

"Trying to ignore the fact that my big brother was practically shaking the house," she said, hopping off the counter. "And making snacks, of course. Because someone needs to make sure you don’t pass out after… all that."

I swallowed my bite of egg and sighed. "You know I won’t pass out because of that, right?”

She snorted. "I know, but who knows?" She looked at me, her gaze curious.

I frowned, sensing something more behind her words. "What?"

She hesitated for a moment, then said, "Can you fold your wings?"

I blinked at the request but complied. My wings folded and disappeared, she exhaled softly, as if she had been holding her breath.

"You know, I just found out your demon family is very interesting…" she said, her voice quieter than before. "I mean, I’m afraid of them, but…" she trailed off, her fingers tapping lightly against the counter before she finally continued. "They look like they love you. I’m happy for you."

I paused, mid-chew, processing her words. I turned to look at her, watching for any hint of bitterness or resentment. But there was none. Just honesty. A quiet acceptance of something she knew she wasn’t a part of. She was my sister, but she hadn’t become a demon like I had. She wasn’t part of Lord Damon and Lilieth’s family. And I knew, deep down, Celia didn’t seem interested in becoming a full demon like me.

I put the egg down and leaned against the counter, my arms crossed. "You don’t feel left out?" I asked carefully.

She shook her head. "No. I mean, yeah, sometimes it’s weird knowing you’re part of something much bigger than just… us. But I’ve always known you were different, even before all this. Even when we were kids." She gave me a small, knowing smile.

I let out a dry chuckle. "No kidding."

She nudged me playfully. "And hey, just because I’m not part of your demon family doesn’t mean I’m not still your family."

My chest tightened at her words. I knew she meant it. I knew she always had my back, no matter what.

"Yeah," I murmured, looking down at my hands. "You’re right."

She hopped back onto the counter, swinging her legs. "Besides, your new family is kinda cool. Scary, but cool."

I smirked. "You’re talking about Lord Damon, aren’t you?"

She made a face. "Ugh, yeah. That guy is terrifying. The way he just looks at people, it’s like he’s deciding if he wants to keep them alive or not."

"That’s because he probably is deciding," I muttered, picking up another egg.

Celia groaned. "Great. Just great. My brother’s dad is a demon king who might decide to murder me one day."

I chuckled. "He won’t. He might mess with you, but he won’t actually hurt you."

She raised an eyebrow. "And what about Lilieth?"

"She’s… complicated," I admitted.

"Complicated how?" she asked, leaning forward.

I glad that Celia gets her time to talk and discuss stuff. I hope she can get to know Lilith better
