This may highlight either his swordplay works better in light garb, slight arrogance or the resilient and deadly nature of Penumbra. Enchantments can be cast on garments and regular practice for Penumbra, thus armor is a rare sight and mostly ornate decorations if not on a battlefield.
Manalodia's crimson cloak is an odd creation of his own, formed from a drop of blood and magik. It acts independently of him at a semi-subconscious level, a popularized mental practice during Lithavania's time.
