Grey and his father have always had an odd relationship. Born between a knight and a paramour, rather than discard him as a bastard son, Magus Sr. took responsibility for both, marrying the woman and going as far as to give Grey his name. Growing up, this earned snide behavior and remarks without his father's presence. Grey was as adventurous as any boy, genuinely loving exploration. It was his dream rather than becoming a military man like his father. However, that was on condition Magus Sr. put upon Grey to uphold the path of their lineage.

Eventually putting away his immature feelings and grudgingly setting aside his dreams, Grey came to accept his role in serving Nuefraust . One to take calculated action quickly, he earned the trust and respect of those around him and rose to his current position as captain of the Thaged Horn.

Recently finding himself elevated to the King's Guard for his feats among an expedition party he accompanied to Tian. The King was in the middle of expansion and seeking resources, this venture seemed to provoke a series of responses within and without Nuefrost. The first was collapse of negotations with the giants of land that took Grey's eye. The last was a direct attempt on the royal family that lead to the loss of the infant Prince.

Grey is partnered with his friend, Garland Theofar by the chancellor to uncover a spy and evidence of the Prince alive or dead. Grey retraces the King's caravans trail to Rayne and it would not take long for a clue to find him instead in the form of a man calling himself Colt.
