Star was raised by a relative when her eco-terrorist parents were imprisoned for blowing up a facility with workers inside. This left the normally timid girl angry and acting out until she formed a short-lived gang. It didn't take too much official correction to set her right enough, to which Star decided she wanted to join the police, specifically, the police on the Orbital Station above Gaias. Corporatization, conflict and competition was rife and those stuck in the cities eeked out an existence of survival. Many would take any avenue to leave the planet for the orbital station that had been taken in civilian residence for the last five years.
Star would dedicate herself and eventually slide on her teeth into the force. However, her bad habits hadn't left and eventually, an affair with her commanding officer and then his wife. With the loss of her company housing and benefits, little prospects seemed possible for Star and would either be working doing grunt work at the station's core or sent back to Gaias. An acquaintance would suggest the freighting business. It wasn't glamorous, but it provided shelter to the moon and back and offered "opportunities" for big payouts at waystations.
Less than what she desired and better than could hope, Star fell into the line of work, but it wouldn't take long before the forspoken opportunity and Star's impulsive nature would come through. When a shipment with it's own security and a nervous merchant accompanying the cargo. This would be Star's chance, but like always, it won't go as planned.
