The ENDr story summary

Devar was first to discover it and after it's 'uploaded' it's data into his mind, he was able to split it in two, keeping a childhood promise never thought to be possible.
They were the heroes defending Layrend City until Take was killed in battle, leaving ENDr to appear only once before disappearing.
This is the basic premise for the story. I want it to center around 'what it takes to be a hero', the burden and sacrifices one must make. To me, selfishness has no place with such an individual yet is part of the growing process when one embarks on such a course or must encounter when the accolades and praise do come. How selfless can one be before we hit the point where it may not seem worth it, to turn back when it becomes apparent it may require our everything.
That's the journey I want Devar to take in looking beyond the loss of his best friend, losing his family do to his guilt and realizing Take gave his all despite what he was leaving behind.
