The first half of the last book covers part of the history of philosophical pessimism, as seen by a pessimist himself.

I wonder if Mainlander was big with video game developers back in the 90s, because the whole “we are living in the decaying body of God” thing definitely reminded me of more than one JRPG plot twist 😅
