Warlock GPT

Over the last year I've begun using AI for critique and research in my writing. Never to create words, because it sucks at that, but for things like "Tell me all the witch related events between 1500 and 1900" or "Within the context of your knowledge [the book] what would the likely population distribution within the various witch factions be, given a total witch population of X and what birth rate would be necessary to sustain these numbers?"

Or, more often, "What the fuck did I say about Y six chapters back?"

It's fun to play with, though it will occasionally go completely deranged and I have to recreate the custom gpt or it seems to be making up a completely different story with different characters. Seriously, I went in this morning and asked it to summarize the characters in prep for posting this, and it just made shit up.

So if you'd like to play with it, feel free. :D Just remember - if it seems to go completely batshit, ask it "Are you sure?" a lot.

I’ve found chatGPT pretty terrible at things like this because it will omit some facts and hallucinate or make up other facts. What’s tough is it can get most right but you can never fully trust it. Ironically I’ve found it works a lot better for creative applications where factual accuracy doesn’t matter as much. I know a DnD DM that uses ChatGPT to help flesh out details for his campaigns once he has created basic outline. Lot lower bar for writing excellence in a homebrew campaign though, and it’s not like he’s charging for it.
