Emi's 3rd Pregnancy #13 - Epilogue

Finally we've come to the very end! One last epilogue before I move onto other characters. :>

Story written by GhostPlasma and edited by Warmind Asura!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Patient: Emiko ‘Emi’ Kida

Primary Physician: Dr. Aya Kida, M.D.

Patient Log Entry #: 1057

Date: 02-07-2030

Subject: Personal Observations- Japanese Auctus Emergence And Its Societal Effects: The Kida Case.

I should have spotted the wider population trend sooner, but even I will admit that sometimes you become so engrossed in a subject of study that you fail to see the forest through the trees. Such was the case with Emi Kida - a brilliant early outlier in the Japanese population who represented a harbinger of what was to come.

In the decade since Emi completed her record breaking third pregnancy, more than 60% of all pregnancies to Japanese woman have resulted in multiples. This nationwide occurrence alone would have been enough to raise extreme concern among the medical community, however the discovery and subsequent onset of Auctus traits among a large swath of the population have further compounded the national situation. Pregnancies are up almost 500 percent within the country, and as a result Japan has experienced a population explosion.[1]

The Prime Minister ultimately declared a state of emergency due to the massive population surge. Many other countries experienced similar population explosions, and have had varying amounts of success in implementing responses.

Recent breakthroughs in my research have concluded that Auctus traits are largely genetic in nature. Through global collaboration (pioneered by the esteemed Victoria Sorge) of population studies and familial gene tracking, we have been able to determine that Japanese women almost universally have some form of low-level marker for multiple-order pregnancies.

Emi Kida’s case was instrumental in helping to trace early genetic markers. It was also invaluable in helping to lay out a roadmap for what ensuing Japanese women might come to expect after conceiving their own children (I myself being no exception). And while she was my primary patient of study, she has also become a lifelong friend.

Early on in her final pregnancy I was concerned at her rapid weight loss. It was eventually determined that all of her body’s available resources and nutrients were diverted toward facilitating the growth of twenty four fetuses, and accompanying breast growth. This has since been highlighted as a potential concern for intense Auctus cases, but with proper monitoring it can be successfully mitigated.

As far as we've seen so far, the Auctus traits have all been extremely similar in type and expression. But I believe this is largely a quirk of humans breeding rather slowly. As the traits spread among populations, we will probably see a large spike in variation and intensity as the various traits constructively interfere with each other; Which will eventually taper down as the traits become the baseline and start destructively interfering with each other. The intensity of the traits we've observed so far is trending exponentially; But mathematically this is not stable indefinitely. Eventually we will hit our high water mark, and the trait intensity will recede to a new normal. I suspect this generation of exceptional factors is already among us. Merely gestating as its population matures. We must be prepared to accommodate their needs.

As for their ability to cope with such enhanced traits… It has also proven out that given time the human body will simply adapt. It has taken roughly five years, but Emi's body has slowly managed to rebuild the muscle mass it lost during her final pregnancy, though curiously she hasn’t regained any of the weight she put on as part of her second pregnancy. She is now easily able to lift and carry the massive breasts the pregnancy left her with, and despite some difficulty in maneuvering due to her sheer size is fully capable of taking care of her children on her own. Her child-like personality has likely helped to assist in this as well.

It was also believed that Emi’s Auctus helped protect the twenty four fetuses from any developmental issues normally seen in high risk pregnancies such as hers. Younger generations though seem to have a stronger affinity towards their Auctus', being more naturally suited to their factors. While there |

[1]It should be noted that these statistics are not consistent for the global population, and are strictly limited to the nation of Japan.

Aya was pulled from her laptop’s screen by the sound of her husband’s voice calling to her from the kitchen.

"Aya, time for dinner!" He yelled.

"Be right there!" she shouted back. She stared at the blinking cursor in the halfway finished sentence. It sat in the middle of an unfinished paragraph with a footnote below it. The formatting bothered her, but she knew she needed a break. She completed the sentence, saved the log entry, and closed her laptop lid.

She looked down at the device. The thought of compiling all of her notes and experiences into an autobiography played through her mind again. She shook her head. Later. For now the wealth of data would continue to sit on her laptop along with her other research.

With a huff Aya slid out of her chair. One hand came down and began cradling her enormous belly as the other held on to her desk for support. She leaned to the side slightly to allow her large breasts to settle back into a comfortable position in her bra. When she was satisfied, she nodded. Aya exhaled as she steeled herself to begin her slow waddling trek that would carry all 21 of them to the kitchen for her sixth meal of the day.
