Update on 105

Hey everybody...

Just wanted to give an update on how 105 is coming along.  So, it's been a rough start to 2021, both in general and for me.  Between the slow crumbling of civil society in my country and a few personal issues, I've found it very very hard to concentrate on this chapter, and so progress has been very slow.  Normally the chapter would be in DemiImp's hands by now, perhaps close to coming out by the end of the weekend.  That's not the case right now.

This chapter is not a long one.  It's not 15k words.  It's probably going to be 6-7k at most.  Right now, it's 4k and I've rewritten it 5 times.  But it's a pretty meaningful chapter, so I want to get it right... as soon as I can figure out what "right" means in this case.

Sofie is a strange character for me because what she is now is somewhat different than how I'd envisioned her when I planned this whole story out.  It's been a strange experience to see how everybody reacts to her.  You all see things in her that I never knew I was even putting in there in the first place, and it's been both a blessing and a curse.  I love the perspectives you have, but honestly it's also made writing her these days exponentially harder for me.  I end up questioning everything a hundred times over, wondering if what I'm doing is going to backfire or be taken in a way I didn't intend.

This chapter will come eventually.  Maybe, hopefully, I'll be able to have a breakthrough and finish revision 1 by Saturday.  If so, then maybe the chapter will be out soon.  But if not, I'm sorry.  I really, really wanted to keep up the 2-chapters-a-month pace we'd kept for the last few years, but the last few months have not cooperated.  Every chapter (except 101 and 103 somewhat) has felt like pulling teeth to write.  I find myself avoiding writing more often than I should.  Maybe it's stress, maybe it's burnout, maybe I'm just in a post-101 lull (this has happened before with the chapters after a big important chapter).  Either way, I'll get back to work on it tomorrow.

Side bit of good news: I commissioned a new cover!  It won't be done for a few more weeks, but it's coming along nicely.  I'll post it here when it's done!
