I think you missed during fight with Bambis that after almost 400s episodes Ichigo actually learned a second attack - Getsuga Jujisho xD Also due to the lack of space, anime unfortunately had to cut out some scenes which explained that Gremmy was kept in isolation as other Quincies were afraid of his power. That's why his imagination was quite limited. His power was actually really broken, and with him having more inspiration and some buffs which the chosen ones got, he really could have been one of the strongest Quincies. Can't wait to see your reaction to the battle at the Royal Palace! IMO everything what happens there is proabably some of the most epic and hype moments in Bleach.
