2022-07-11 06:16:34 +0000 UTCI really wouldn't consider Horikita the female MC OR the love interest tbh. The ending of S1 already kinda confirmed that. Ayanojoki is the one and only MC, everyone else are just tools to him. The only ones who can escape that label are those who can rival him in some ways, (Sakayanagi/Ryueen kinda) to gain his respect or those he values enough. Even "Character X" that you talked about as the love interest just falls under the label of an "irreplaceable tool." So long as we witness the series from Ayanojoki's eyes, that won't change. The main reason people like the role of "Character X" girl is because they believe she is the one who can make him change that ideology. Whether or not she's useless and that's wishful thinking remains to be seen.

2022-07-11 06:11:04 +0000 UTCHorikita is the FMC but not the love interest As COTE started 2017 I shipped Horikita and Ayanokouji a lot, but not anymore (they do give a good teamwork in my eyes) also there is a love interest which will be in Season two (for a love interest is that girl fine) but in my opinion (I don't hate thay girl/won't say who that girl is) but she isn't FMC that's Horikita, that other girl might play a big role as a love interest.. but I think she's useless? They just throw her more into screentime just for that (that's how I feel and see and that's my opinion)
