2022-07-09 18:14:41 +0000 UTCIn the LN episode 7 is technically canon however it takes place later, sometime during season 2, and involves different characters which has a big impact on their character development in the future. Some other things were changed like which characters did things but I won't go into that because I don't want to potentially spoil anything if they go into things or fix it in season 2.

2022-07-09 11:15:21 +0000 UTCFeel like it's worth saying that there were pretty strange differences in the adaptation of the LN during that pool episode. To avoid saying too much, it was actually Kei Karuizawa (Blonde girl with a ponytail/Hirata's girlfriend) that performed Horikita's role in that episode originally. Worth keeping in mind going into the end of the season, and into season 2 more specifically.
