Gonzalez trips up Shotzi, Rhea comes down, as the ref and Shotzi are distracted, Kai goes for the corner kick, Shotzi evades and rolls up for 3.

Swerve and Santos split screen interview from various rooms in a strip club. 

Swerve: I’m the only man who’s pinned Santos, so I’m gonna come out on top.

Santos: Don’t make me laugh. You’re a parasite, a loose end, and I tie off loose ends. He promises it will be fair- 

Swerve: Will it? There’s always something with you, a bag of tricks- 

Santos: Excuses! 

Swerve: I’m gonna show that you’re a fraud

Promo: I’m not in the best mood right now- I had every chance in the world, but it as all taken away- at the gauntlet eliminator- what a stupid idea- I can come up with a match- the Cameron Grimes Invitational stepping stones to the moon match! Opponent #1 come on down! JOEY PISTACHIO- he’s here cuz he wants to go to the moon! CAVE IN IMMEDIATELY gets 3. I don’t think he even dropped the mic. Opponent #2 Joey Strong- but Ridge Holland beats the crap out of him onthe entrance ramp- 

Grimes: Hey Ridge- I’m a big fan, I think you’re really good, but you’re not part of the invitational. Ridge headbutts Grimes. The bell rings, Ridge starts destroying Grimes. 

Austin Theory- I should have been in that GE match last week- I saw Kyle’s video- it took him 15 years to finally get an NXT opportunity, I was 22 years at wrestlemania- I think Kyle should be trying to catch up to me. 

KUSHIDA video. He’s been distracted, had injuries, now he’s impatient- he has to kick it up a notch and go ballistic, at takeover you’ll see me explode- Dream, you’ll be my stepping stone. The NEW KUSHIDA IS VICIOUS. 

KUSHIDA vs. Tony Nese

Kushida indeed was more vicious, he stomps the shit out of him and taps him out.

Grimes: I DON’T WANNA TALK TO ANYBODY! Unless know where Regal is, get out of my face! He runs into Lumis, then asks “do you know where Regal is? You’re a freak man!”

Adam Cole wants to talk- for 3 years UE has been a part of NXT, we’ve dominated. People knew if you crossed us, you were gonna pay. Somewhere along the way, they thought we changed, they could say what they wanted without repercussions- nothing has changed, we are the same. SO Austin theory- you wanna run your mouth about Kyle? Bring your ass down to this ring and say it to MY face. 

Theory comes out, acts like a doofus, so Cole says two options, one, you fight me, two the UE jump you. Theory doesn’t wanna get jumped so he gets in the ring. Cole beats his ass. 

Austin Theory vs. Adam Cole

Literally Austin Theory’s only offense is getting out of a headlock with some elbows. Oh and he said UE is crap. OH FINALLY he lands a dropkick and takes over. Cole gets control back and Theory’s head is pure purple at this point. Theory eats a last shot from Cole to mercifully put this one away.

Cole expresses his love of Kyle afterwards to the camera. It’s a beautiful thing. 

Damien Priest/Io Shirai Interview

He mocks the idea of them being a power couple. You’re gonna see a preview of takeover- we’re the real rockstars of NXT. Io Shirai calls Gargano short, then they bump signs of the devil. 

Kayden Carter vs. Xia Li

Xia working heel here, dragging Kayden to the floor from the apron, stomping her when she gets in. They go through a series of rollups and roll throughs, til Kayden pins Xia for 3.

Xia is a poor sport afterwards, refusing to shake hands and shoving Kayden to the mat. 

Finn/Kyle Face Off with HBK

Finn starts by congratulating Kyle, Kyle pays respect back. HBK: we are seeing the best finn balor, but you are facing the best kept secret in all of wrestling, how do you prepare?

Finn: Maybe to a fringe wrestling fan, he’s a secret, but it’s no secret to me. 

Kyle says this is a big ego stroke, but you’re facing certain defeat. 

Finn: Are you gonna bring UE or be a man? Kyle: I’m gonna be a man. 

HBK: Any conflict between you and Adam? Kyle: It’s laughable, I’m nothing like Cole, I’m ugly. 

Finn: I’m gonna slap those freckles off your face.

Kyle: This Sunday is the biggest day of my life. The fact that I’m considered the underdog is bullshit. You’ve never stepped in the ring with anyone like me. 

HBK gives Finn the final word: You’re witty, charismatic, and you are really good in the ring- you have it all, and you would win if this was anyone but Finn. 

Priest/Shirai vs. Garganos

Priest/Shirai do a cute coordinated entrance and run the G’s out of the ring. 

Lots of fun combo stuff, Shirai launches from Priest’s shoulders to the floor on the G’s. 

Shirai hits a 619 on Gargano as he protects Candice

Io goes for a moonsault, but JOhn rolls Candice out of the way, Priest hits him with a bell clap, Priest sets up Gargano for a move but he gets hit with a low blow by Candice, John hits One FInal Beat to get 3 on Priest, ensuring he won’t win at Takeover
