The real Kunikida took on the pen name Doppo which means "unrivaled" or "Unmatched" so "Doppo Poet" Means a Poet without any rival. The real Kunikida's real first name was actually Tetsuo, his poetry was at first romantic and then turned more pastoral (focusing on Nature and the natural world)
