Squad Changes

What does that Squad Change mean?

Squad Change is the concept of people getting new cards and selling previous cards to free up some coins.

This will happen a lot throughout the year! From what I have noticed so far, the intensity is like a wave. In the early stages, this happens a lot and people change squads based on the new stuff they get, around Futmas to early February it happens less partly due to less popular promos. After getting like Future Stars, it’s a bit more common again. TOTS also shows a stronger exchange but it slows down again as people don’t need to exchange anymore and just build multiple squads near the end of TOTS going into Futties.

The ideal content to make people change the squad is meta, fun, unique, and easy OR tough to link! This short sentence is almost complicated enough to make a whole guide about this, but we just leave it to these small indicators to identify squad changes.

Why is that important for us?

You can find correlations between Squad Changes and other trading methods! It’s a lot of theory and a bit of predicting at the right stages of the game, but it helps us to understand how many coins the casual player has.

Let’s say there’s a very cheap card released that was previously covered by a very expensive card. People swap the cards -> sell the previous expensive cards -> get some coins to make changes. And with the right market feeling + knowledge, you can roughly estimate how many coins people have at that moment.

Based on the knowledge about how many coins people additionally have, you can get a better idea of what cards people are looking for in other trading concepts like Complementary Trading.

Summary

- People sell cards and have more coins for new squad ideas

- You can roughly estimate how many coins people got and use that for other trading moves

- You can get a better understanding of other trading concepts
