TOTW Investing

What is TOTW Investing?

TOTW Investing is a risk-free trading method with slow profit throughout the following weeks and months. This is a great trading method to keep some coins moving, especially if you notice that you have too many coins left over from other trading moves.

The idea is that TOTW cards get supplied for a week and a new set of TOTW cards get released the next week. That keeps the supply limited while EA is also asking for TOTW Cards in multiple SBCs throughout the year, which leads to increasing prices for these TOTW Cards. On top of that, these TOTW Cards have a set quick sell value of around 10.000 coins. That means, any purchase around that quick sell value is almost risk-free and also guarantees you make some coins. And if it doesn’t work out, you can quickly sell them and get your coins back whenever you want.

On average, you can expect an increase of 10% after a week, 30% after 1 month, and 100% after 3 months. There are still different ways to use this method, I will explain the most used ones below.

The Club Stock Technique

The Club Stock Technique is my favorite technique out of all the following ones. As you know, a club stock means to buy one of each to store them in your club. You can do this by simply buying each cheap TOTW Card every week and slowly building a growing coin balance inside your FUT club.

We will make posts about this almost every week and remind you to club stock the best TOTW Cards of each week, but this works with every TOTW Card that’s at Discard value.

Ideally, you keep your TOTWs until you triple or quadruple your coins, that’s when I usually decide to cash out and move on with different trading methods. The downside, you are locking some of your coins and it can take a few months to see these insane profit numbers. If you are patient and have a lot of coins it's still a super technique to use!

The Unassigned Technique

The Unassigned Technique got a lot more popular due to the Gamble SBCs last year and that’s for a reason.

As you know, you can store as many cards as you want in your unassigned pile and that allows you to buy unlimited amounts of TOTW Cards as long as you have enough coins. Due to that, you could throw some million coins into these TOTW Cards, wait a month and get a return of 30% on average.

That builds your coin balance slowly but steadily each month. You are a bit more limited as you don’t have any other space for any other trading methods but it’s a fair method.

I recommend this method if you don’t have enough time to trade for some months and need a long-term investment. Usually, this is risk-free and you can expect some decent returns when you come back.

The 10/25/100 Technique

An older but still useful technique for TOTW Investing. This technique allows you to focus your buys on TOTW cards with different potential profits.

The name is coming from the “potential profit” split. You buy 10 of each TOTW Card with little potential profit, 25 of each TOTW Card with average potential profit, and 100 of each TOTW Card with high potential profit.

The split can even be throughout different TOTWs, if you notice that the current TOTW doesn’t allow any investments with high potential profit then you wait for the next TOTW but still fill your club with the other options.

That way you can spread your investments more and you can skip bad weeks or focus a bit more if there's a decent TOTW. You are also less limited in your trading as you could end up with a bit more space to do another trading method while waiting.

How to identify good TOTW Investments

This is probably a question you have right now. There are no exact rules but there are a few good indicators to highlight certain TOTW Cards.

Position

This is something we talked about in the SBC Investing Guide already and it makes a return here. A good position such as CB can be very useful for SBCs and usually rises higher than other positions, this is the same case for TOTW Cards. I don’t want to explain this much further, I recommend reading the SBC Investing Guide to understand this a bit better if needed.

Links to other SBC Fodder

This also goes a bit into the SBC Investing Guide but it’s a bit trickier here. It's based on the idea to aim for good Nations or good Leagues to make it easier to build a squad around the card. However, certain nations work even better because there are many fodder cards from that nation or league.

Most notable are the Serie A and La Liga. Serie A and La Liga usually have many high-rated but slow cards which make the league fodder league sadly. And because of that, we usually see a stronger increase in Serie A and La Liga TOTW Cards as these are easier to link in SBCs.

There are other nations and leagues with similar situations, but we will talk about this in more detail as soon as we have the Player Database available.

Updated Fodder Card

This is sadly something that gets overrated a lot. If a Gold Fodder Card gets a TOTW Card it's usually the main investing for most traders as they expect to see an increase same as the Gold Fodder Card. However, we already talked about Trader Hype and how that can affect Card prices and this is one of these cases.

I recommend sticking with the other 2 indicators but this is also an indicator for a potential good TOTW card.
