It’s set in an alternate reality set in post war 50’s with more futuristic tech. Everything you asked about is answered eventually. And no this show is not based off any of the games but it is in the same universe.

2024-04-18 03:08:57 +0000 UTCFallout is a video game series, so many of the weapons and items you will see are from the video game, just in case some stuff don't make sense. The world takes place in an alternate earth where society, at least in America where the games take place, got permanently stuck in the 50s but with some advance tech here and there. That's just the basis. There's the Vaults, the Brotherhood of Steel and the mentioned Enclave, those are major factions in the game. Thats all I will say for episode 1.
