Barebella Page 9

This is a comic I am painting a page for every month. There’s only a rough storyline, that I won’t disclose, to have some

guidance, but I try to spontaneously go with the flow otherwise. It isn’t yet perfect. I paint quickly to not lose momentum

and will clean it up when it’s done. I’m not sure how many pages it will be but I’m aiming for a basic 44.

That means it might get a follow up. Or not if I can’t get it printed.

It’s very loosely based on the ancient movie from the 1960’s called Barbarella (hence the working title Barebella)

which was actually based on another comic that I never read.
It’ll definitely not be a remake.
I don’t know what the story of the movie was. I only remember fragments and that it was highly erotic for that time, a bit weird like the producers were on some serious dope, and of course, I remember the spectacular Jane Fonda as the lead character.

So, I’m trying to get the general feel in it, and work in some of the memories I have of it, when possible.

It’s something right up my alley of course. so this is the platform to have you witness the development of this steamy story.

And you think I have ulterior or deeper motives for creating this spoof? Other than diving in a funny and hopefully erotic story originating from my very faded memories of a 60’s movie I only saw once? I think not. Also the ship does not land like a rocket because of the engines location at the back might cause them to explode, as the heat would not be dispersed as well, which would make an expedition to any xellium5 fields futile😊

The Firefly television series and the movie, Serenity, were, in part, a wonderful critique of the semi-consciously hostile sterility of the Star Trek universe. Much of the appeal Joss Whedon sowed into the Firefly enterprise feeds our human needs for unspeakable intimacy that Star Trek completely overlooked. I think your series needs to squat in the mess/kitchen on Serenity to put on the feedbag with Captain Tightpants, Inara the high-value Companion, and Kaylee, the engineer who "ain't had nothin' twixt her nethers weren't run on batteries in nigh on a year!" because hot and funny draws unexpected ears, eyeballs, butts and wallets, and a ship that looks like a giant dick really ought to land on its balls in the upright position, not like a sleepy dachshund. The Whedon product wasn't perfect, but it tore out lots of pre-existing stops and created an adoring audience of reactionaries and ultra-liberals who still can't believe the slept together on planets and ships all over Whedon's 'verse.
