Request #39 - Avariel - The Council of Skyborn

A new addition to the Avariel and some more lore!

The Council of Skyborn is the ruling body of Avariel society, composed of six Matrons—ancient and revered leaders chosen not by birthright, but by the merit of centuries lived in service to their people. Each Matron embodies one of the sacred pillars of Avariel's life, elevated through unmatched wisdom, mastery, and unwavering devotion to the greater good. Their power lies not in command, but in influence, tradition, and divine attunement—they are shepherds of the skies, not tyrants of it.

From the celestial city of Astraelion, perched high above the world below, the Council oversees the laws, rituals, defences, and dreams of the Avariel. Though each Matron speaks for a different aspect of their people, all are bound by a shared responsibility: to preserve balance in a society that soars between heaven and earth. Their decisions shape not only the fate of the skyborn, but also the winds of history, magic, and memory that ripple across all Avariel realms.

The Six Matrons -

Mirael Sunvale – Matron of Memory & Law The Archivist of Astraelion. Preserver of history, guardian of ancient rites, and speaker of law. Wise and deliberate.

Kaerith Stormbane – Matron of War The Feathered Blade. Supreme commander of Avariel military forces. Blunt, disciplined, and fiercely loyal.

Selavaria Luneveil – Matron of Passion & Art The Blooming Flame. Patroness of love, creativity, and personal expression. Flirtatious, dramatic, and poetic.

Thalyssa Noctewyn – Matron of the Lost The Mourning Wing. Guide of the fallen and forgotten. Mysterious, soft-spoken, and hauntingly serene.

Vaelis Valtaeris – Matron of the Tempest The Stormcaller Sovereign. Master of weathercraft and elemental storm magic. Intense, brilliant, and a force of nature.

Rhalyn Skyrend – Matron of the Wilds The Voice of the Sky Clans. Representative of nomadic Avariel. Wild, unpredictable, and wise in nature’s ways.
