Yakuza Bathhouse

Battle map dimensions - [16 x 13]

Hi everyone! Here's the latest map for you all to throw your players into - The Yakuza Bathhouse.

This bathhouse battle map mixes in some of the old Japanese-style fittings (that screams Yakuza) and the modern  in terms of interior design.

The space features a large main area with five bathing pools, a locker room, a toilet, a sauna and two entrance/exits.

This is where the clan unwinds after a long day and where the Yakuza boss can be found soaking up the pore purifying steam.

The Yakuza Bathhouse was intended to be one of the many facilities within the Koi Hotel, but is also usable in standalone format. In addition, this map chains well with the following maps:

Bathhouse Map Variants

The Boss Is Dead

"Your players enter the main bathhouse area and spot a very large, bald man dead, floating in a pool of blood. Just as they realize that the man is actually the Oyabun (Yakuza clan boss), they hear a flurry of multiple footsteps approaching from the stairs.

Will the Oyabun's henchmen wrongly accuse the players of murdering their beloved leader?"

Let me know what you think of this variant. I really enjoyed painting this one.

Raided Lockers

This variant opens up some random lockers within the locker room. The players would enter this space and discover that whatever they were after, is now long gone. Someone managed to strip search the place ahead of the players. What now?

 Death By Sauna

This is another opportunity to set your players up for trouble or a murder mystery. This variant comes in two flavors: a normal dead dude and a dead dude with a cybernetic arm.

Gold tier supporters, you'll find this one in your downloads folder.

Cyberspace

This one is an experiment, so I'm keen to hear if you like this kind of variant in the future. Shoutout to one of my supporters "JackieDan" for coming up with the idea of turning meatspace into cyberspace.

The variant is also great for characters with night vision enhancements. Let me know what you think!

That's all for now folks. Coming up next - The Nightclub! Stay tuned.

I lost it when painting the butt.

Frag Maps

My players are gonna lose it when they see the dead guy's butt!

Yes, I like the idea of cyberspace being a kinda lofi recreation of reality

J_Rogue

Thanks J_Rogue for the feedback. Yup I will keep experimenting. Are you in favor of this kinda cyberspace variant (ignoring the aesthetics of the one I released) though?

Frag Maps

Those corpse variants are fantastic. Great as always. I like the cyberspace concept, but I agree that I envision a pared down "meatspace" as Henry Towberman suggested. I love that you are experimenting to see what works

J_Rogue

Yeah i'll figure out a nice way to present this form of cyberspace, if there is enough demand for it. Just want to put it out there and see how many of you find something like this useful. If so, I will invest the time into developing a Frag Maps style look to this.

Frag Maps

The cyberspace concept is so nice for netrunners. Hmm maybe give it a more virtual feel by going for black with green outlines, but still love the idea

Briar Huynh

Super John Wick vibes. But i guess that's intended. :D

Kalle Paulsen

Noted. Thanks for the feedback Henry!

Frag Maps

Cyberspace is a super cool concept, but it's too bright, just hurts to look at, I think you could accomplish the mission more effectively, and less painfully, by focusing more on outlines than on bloom to lower the total mass of pure light. In my humble opinion :)
