FAQ for New Tiers
Added 2020-11-16 14:04:00 +0000 UTCSo there have been a few questions from people about the new Tiers. I'm going to do my best to make a link-savvy post with access to relevant information, and then link this somewhere easy to get to from my main landing page.
Q: What's the turnaround time on the Name a Model?
A: That depends on a few things, I want it to be a model that the Patron will enjoy, and feels represents them, but that means I may not initially have them in my collection. We can discuss the sending of a miniature, or it may just have to wait till I can afford the kit/print. I'm probably not going to want to spend more than about 40$ on any particular kit for the Name a Model.
Q: Do I get the named model?
A: No. It's intended for a personal collection, a physical representation of my supporters I can look to as a reminder. I will try to bring them along to games and give battle reports as cool updates (lots of pics on the table). If you really like the piece we could discuss shipping at some point, but currently I offer painting commissions if you'd like a model painted by me.
Q: Supporting Originals seems like it could be a lot of work, 1500 words is a lot per person.
A: The supporting of Originals is going to be a vote. All pieces that get any votes will try to get 1500 words that month (sometimes more, sometimes less), it's not 1500 words per vote a piece gets. Higher support for particular Originals may get them more words from my personal time though.
Q: How will Doc Access and work with commission previews?
A: I put a lot of thought into this one, but essentially Doc Access I'm going to always try to be showing more than the standard previews. Docs for commissions will be updated as per their preview plan according to my story commissions, sometimes with extras, but I don't want 10$ to be able to circumvent my commission prices.
Q: What're the limits on the Mini Commission?
A: No major markups. The 25% markups under the "Yellow Lights" section of my story commissions are acceptable, but nothing higher than that. I'm also not going to forcibly stretch to 2000 words, same as with Originals, it could be less if all the bases were ticked, or a bit more if I really end up running with it.
Q: What does -50% markup mean for the commission discount?
A: Essentially, when I tally up the cost of the commission, -50% will be added to the markups. So if the client wants no markups, it would lead to a 50% off story. If they want one of my high premium markups, then instead of the +150% markup, it would become +100%. Basic math, adding a negative number to the markups section of my commission price.
Q: When do reward things go up?
A: For polls, Moxie's/whatever CYOA is going on goes live on the 2nd day of the month, and lasts until the middle of the month (usually the 16th), and is then started when the voting is closed. The Originals poll will go from the first Sunday of the month until the following Saturday, one full week, after which the voted Originals will get work done, with the docs updating on the regular, but a Patreon post will go up when I'm done for the month to remind people. The Mini-Commission will be discussed at the Patron's convenience, preferably within the first week of the month, and released once it's done. Previews will be same as usual, whenever I have them.
