Alas, I lament the stall of Eliot Gould’s career due to the major falling out with the powers that be of that time. Mr. Gould gives an intimate description of that incident on Marc Marons WTF podcast from 2 or 3 years ago. I sincerely recommend seeking it out.

2020-04-14 16:39:39 +0000 UTCGlad you reviewed Day of the Locust. I started watching it a few weeks ago, about half of it, and when I wanted to finish it, it was gone from the Criterion Channel. Can't say I loved it or hated it, as you say, it was still somehow compelling to watch, even though none of the characters were very interesting. In a similar kind of movie, I also recently watched The Last Picture Show, after you talked about it, and I really liked it.
