33:00 or so, Scott is "actor forward", Kara is "character forward".

2025-02-02 02:15:38 +0000 UTCI think comedies can work for a reroll as long as there is a adventure/plot that exists outside of the comedy. A movie like, say, Neighbors wouldn't work as well because the company comes directly from the character choices in a social situation. B&T or Bernie's both have quests that the characters need to fulfill and comedy happens along the way.

2025-02-01 19:22:52 +0000 UTCI love Weekend at Bernie's so much. It's like an entire campaign of Panda-Barry-um and it cemented Kara and Andy as my favorite Reroll duo.

2024-11-20 06:02:44 +0000 UTCI definitely second Andy's thoughts about it being a comedy reroll that works. The other comedies they've rerolled, like Bill & Ted, are more genre films whereas Bernie's, despite having a super ridiculous premise, isn't fantasy or sci-fi.

2024-10-30 02:31:16 +0000 UTCI literally just finished my most recent listen of this campaign literally this afternoon, so this dropping right now is perfect timing! This is my personal favorite campaign and I really enjoyed hearing everyone’s insights into what they think made it successful. Echoing a lot of thoughts already expressed, I think that this movie really strikes the perfect balance of having enough of a structure/driving force (Bernie is dead, let’s make sure we don’t get caught by the mob or the police) to keep a sense of forward momentum throughout it but also keeping enough breathing room that allows for in character bits and riffing. The characters really get to be built and develop here and it makes the ending all the more sobering and satisfying when it comes. Weekend at Bernie’s Reroll, you will always be famous
