Basilisk Street Issue 1

Basilisk Street was a graphic novel script I wrote around 2011-2012.  Pretty standard "secret  government agency" story in the first few issues, specifically an agency  dedicated to monitoring,  controlling, and shutting down exotic  weaponry- linguistic weaponry,  death symphonies, grey goo, that sort  of  thing. After the first few issues, though, it gets weird fast.

I was a much less skilled writer when I wrote this script- but it's not completely terrible. I cringed way less than I was expecting!

(You'll probably notice some early versions of ideas that later found their way into Mage Errant, at least in later issues-  it's why I avoided publishing Basilisk Street until I finished Mage Errant. And you'll definitely stumble across a few interests of mine that have sustained themselves to this day! Bizarre superweapons is an obvious one.)

We're doing something a little different with this one- this month, we're just getting Basilisk Street Issue 1, but for the next few months, alongside the regular short stories, you'll be getting Basilisk Street issues until it's done! And, following that, Shattered Earth, an ecoterrorism comic pitch (with art!) that never took off. (Also as bonus content.)

Due to formatting issues, had to attach Basilisk Street as a word document, rather than just pasting it into the Patreon editor.

Hope y'all enjoy this little glimpse of Bierce history!

It's been over a decade since I wrote it, so don't really recall what was going through my mind there.

Wait, they just gave her the music sheets?

Once again you impress me with your range! This isn't even something I would normally read but at this point I will read anything you write and damn if it isn't alway good. (First I am hearing about this webtoon, anywhere i can find more information?)

GreenUruloki

Not for Basilisk Street, though there is art for Shattered Earth! And there will definitely be more John Bierce comics in the future, if I have my way- and not just the Mage Errant webtoon comic!

John Bierce

Very nice, interested in reading, was any art ever created?
