PATCH NOTES
Added 2024-06-01 23:26:55 +0000 UTCversion - 0.89 - 6/1/24 Happy pride month! :D
Hello everyone!! We've got another polish update for you all, tryna finalize stuff before the Steam Release. World art, dialogue art, etc. We're still trying to get our goal of 10k steam wishlists, so go forth and spread tha link!! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2693710/HARDCODED/
Also, Winter Cyan has made us another Wonderful and Dope song that has been sprinkled throughout the game, so keep an ear out for that!
I'm sleepy as fuck, friends. I was up extremely late doing a Foolish Thing. I'm attempting to port hardcoded from godot 2.1 to godot 4.2.
"Why", you may ask? By which i assume you mean, "Why were you going to release a game on steam using an ancient engine when there are multiple new version available to you? You dipshit?" And the answer is this: I still might! Idk if I can get everything working on 4.2, and it doesn't really matter, right? The game works just fine on 2.1, and its not like its going to automatically become less janky if I port it. The jank is part of the charm! It's how you know that game dev is accessible even to the dumb of ass. But just in case I am able to port it, here are a few goals:
I want to add steam deck support. Not just getting it run on the steam deck, which I already have, but adding some controller/touch oriented support.
I'd like a persistent game object from which I can control music. Currently, the UI scene is reloaded every time you, idk, enter a map location, or start a scene with a character, etc. I want music volume control, sfx volume control, the ability to change volume from inside the game.
Mac support. There's a strong chance I wont be able to support mac when we release on steam.
Anyway, these arnt promises, just big deal refinement things that I've been craving for a while. What do you think? Also, thank you everyone for your continued support!!
Art updates
Lots of new world art for scenes
New dialogue stills in Beryl scenes
Updates to some main scene backgrounds
Editing updates
New music added to game
Added music to Beryl, Magdalena, and Heather scenes
Polishing edits to a lot of scenes

2024-07-01 20:28:28 +0000 UTCCan't wait to play it on steamdeck, i can't play games on pc much cause of health stuff but steamdeck would let me play it in bed or wherever I'm resting

2024-06-28 14:33:54 +0000 UTCPort would be great! I can't play HC on my laptop since the version of Godot used doesn't play ball with intel integrated graphics :( would be comfier to play in bed than at my desktop

2024-06-26 08:28:35 +0000 UTCAwhh that makes sense though, would be a huge time and resources sink probably, honestly just glad that you're doing well and out here making awesome games like this, you're an inspiration ^_^

2024-06-26 00:39:45 +0000 UTCI feel like we are slightly too disorganized and chaotic to make tutorials at this point, and we are kind of stumbling our way into learning all of this stuff as well haha but that is a good idea! :D And thank you <3

2024-06-26 00:39:25 +0000 UTChaaaai! so i heard this game has bimbofication! is it true?

2024-06-24 21:42:16 +0000 UTCOoh awesomesauce :3. Good luck with the port either way, excited to see it on steam for visibility as much as anything. Random question but - since you mention game dev stuff - would you ever consider making a like, game dev tutorial video series for skillshare or something along those lines? Or something slightly interactive ala Mark Brown's platforming-jumping-physics-simulating-game-thing? Maybe a like game dev 101 series and a specific-to-GODOT tips n stuff on how to get started for a keen aspiring game dev horny tran with an IT background but genuinely dumb of ass on the programming and general game dev front? Just throwing ideas into the wind. In any case; so excited for release, get hype!! :o

2024-06-19 22:07:50 +0000 UTCSo, no Mac on steam, but will I still be able to acquire a Mac version?

2024-06-13 17:30:14 +0000 UTCWill updating the game reset my progress?
LostSpace
2024-06-12 15:25:47 +0000 UTCit is more likely that the port will push back the playable demo for the Succubabe's Bathhouse based on how Trix and I are dividing the work at present. I want to knock out the port as fast as possible so we dont build up too much extra work in terms content that has to be added to both the new and the old versions of the game.

2024-06-03 10:24:56 +0000 UTCTrix has been working on revisions to the Heather arc which has involved paring down and combining some scenes. I will ask her in the morning how many Heather scenes there should be. I will also update the about page ahaa
Fortunae Virgo
2024-06-03 10:21:47 +0000 UTCSo I'm at the end of their current arcs? I can see that corresponds with the 'about' page for Mags, but shouldn't there be 18 scenes for Heather?

2024-06-03 09:14:10 +0000 UTCplus controller support~ so hype for the port potential lol~

2024-06-03 04:39:02 +0000 UTCvolume controls would be so cool!!!~ i believe in ur port powers!!!!~ but u right jank is bonus charm flavours, if it don’t work out it’s not the end of all things lol~

2024-06-03 04:37:11 +0000 UTCI think I must have accidentally changed the message to "Not available in demo version", but those scenes arnt in the patreon version either. they dont exist ahaaa thx u tho i will fix the message

2024-06-03 01:17:07 +0000 UTCIt's chapter 6 for Mags and 15 for Heather, though I doubt that has anything to do with it. More likely it has something to do with the fact that they are the only ones I've played for a while. I can access earlier chapters in their story arcs through the computer though.

2024-06-02 16:54:05 +0000 UTCyeah there's a flatpak in the discover store or the installer from the itch website. the installer version means you don't need flatseal to get things like steam rom manager to play nice with it but the flatpak lets you install windows builds of games as well. both of them appear to have the issue where they can't handle when the linux build is just a bare executable, but it seems like that might be simple enough to work around

2024-06-02 16:40:36 +0000 UTCEchoing support for the port, especially as a long-time (and, for better or for worse) exclusive Mac user. Wouldn't be the first game I've owned on both platforms (Itch and Steam) and can only play on one, but it's always a bit of a bummer.

2024-06-02 15:54:48 +0000 UTCIdk if im doing Full Controller Support, im just gonna try and get it a little more viable on steam deck. Maybe like, a mode where u can control camera movement with a stick but you still have to use the touch screen as a cursor or something
Fortunae Virgo
2024-06-02 10:57:48 +0000 UTCyou can just install itch games on the steam deck right off the itch app? damn... Yeah i will look into this that sounds cool
Fortunae Virgo
2024-06-02 10:56:34 +0000 UTCare there specific scene numbers in their arcs that are not available?
Fortunae Virgo
2024-06-02 09:18:01 +0000 UTCMagdalena and Heather? Hmmm i will look into this.

2024-06-02 06:39:43 +0000 UTCI downloaded the new version, but now the Magdalena and Heather story lines are blocked as 'not available in demo version' (the ones I played recently). What is that about? This shouldn't be a demo version.
WendyWhat
2024-06-02 02:33:19 +0000 UTCofficial Steam Deck support would be amazing! I think it's a good idea to port it Godot 4.

2024-06-01 23:43:55 +0000 UTCRelated to steam deck support - the linux version can't be installed through the itch.io linux app on steam deck because the itch.io app doesn't know what to do with linux apps that are just a bare binary - there is discussion here https://github.com/itchio/itch/issues/2701 it looks like you might be able to make it work by packaging the linux build in a .tar.gz or other archive like the macos build. Definitely open to helping getting this working because I love this game

2024-06-01 23:41:07 +0000 UTCGiven the logic and assets are there, I think it would be worthwhile to port to a newer version. Might open the door to features and optimizations you didn't even consider until you discovered they are a possibility. In the other hand... not doing the port might mean releasing to Steam sooner. So maybe do work on the port, but perhaps as an update after the 1.0 release?

2024-06-01 23:40:41 +0000 UTCWhile I’ve love playing the game on my Steam Deck, if it can run better and with controller support, I’ll be so excited!
