Hi guys, if possible I was wondering if you could give me some advice about what you think are important things I should do to make the most of my time. I'm 17 and from the East Coast. I am a professional magician and actor, and this year my life path changed entirely. I was really focused on academics and going to college and I actually was first in my class throughout high school. After my sophomore year though, I auditioned for and was cast in my first movie and I started getting consistent work performing magic across the country. I ended up doing a handful of more films and a manager in LA told me I needed to get out of high school to pursue magic and acting. So, I doubled down on course work and graduated a year early this past June, and gave up my class rank in order to do so. I'm now in the real world at 17 pursuing what I love and I am really grateful for my years of practicing and performing paying off, but all of my friends from my home town are either going into their senior year of high school or going off to college. I already missed out on my senior year, and people say that college consists of some of the best years of one's life. I am really dedicated and focused on my work and I constantly think about how to make my magic show more entertaining, but since I'm jumping into my career so early what do you guys think are things I should do when I'm not working so that I can make the most of my time and have fun even though I'm missing out on the college experience? Hey hosts this mostly a question for Taylor, but I'm big fan of all of you and PKA. I heard you (Taylor) talk about your job on a recent PKA, 293 I believe. Your job is actually very much what I am studying to do, I have my aa in business and right now I'm studying for my bs in business with a focus on marketing at Chico State (California). I was just wondering how you got started in the field and if you had any advice in terms of what to look for when going after a job in marketing/public relations. My dream/end goal for this degree is actually based off of The Office and the marketing firm Jim started, but geared specifically to E- sports, a group I have been passionate about and involved in for many years now. Am I the asshole? Or am I growing up? I'm 20 years old finishing up community college and I'm having an issue with my long time group of friends. This summer I've been working full time 55 hour weeks minimum, so I have enough money to pay for my tuition and still have some spending money on the side, and as a result I have very limited free time throughout the week. Me and my group of friends typically spend our time smoking weed (something I'm trying to cut back on) at my house, playing video games, and shootin the shit. During high school I had no problem wasting weekend after weekend with my boys, but after 2 years of this in college I think I've finally had enough. I feel like I've been outgrowing them as my friends morally, ideally, intellectually, and so on for quite sometime now. So me, and my best friend since middle school decided it's time to branch out and start hanging out with some new faces. This is where am I the asshole part comes in. We started hanging out with my lifetime friends ex and her friend because we were always good friends until their break up and they often go out to bars, parties, and other social activities we'd like to partake in (And no I'm not fucking his ex as of right now). As you might've guessed they weren't, at all okay with this and begin to roast me and my friend every time we say we are hanging out with them. So this lead to me and my buddy often lying in an attempt avoid the routine roast, and stupid me thinking I could keep this up all summer was caught in the lie and now our friendship is bruised. So am I the asshole? If I feel like I've been outgrowing my friends for quite sometime now and want to branch out socially? or am selfishly ruining potential lifelong friendships over a few parties? I apologize for the length of this question, but if I didn't provide enough context, I wouldn't get that juicy PKA advice I yearn for. So I have no knowledge when it comes the gaming PCs.
