Design Reference Sheet for Special Illustration
Added 2021-08-07 18:34:45 +0000 UTCI apologize for the delay on announcing the winning theme of the polls until now. As you can see, Faery King and Azelthorne won the votes! I've gone through and made a basic design for how everyone's going to appear in the illustration.
Usually I go in pretty blind to illustrations, however animating things in Live2D and After Effects requires some prior planning so it's helpful for me to know ahead of time what pieces there'll potentially be. Faery King's wings and some aspects of Az's designs aren't present here, but they will be in the final illustration! I had also initially planned way more details to their designs, but the more parts there are, the more difficult it gets to animate everything unfortunately. I'm not sure if this is something people want to see, but I'm happy to break down some aspects of process (e.g. how to cut and separate sections of illustrations in preparation to animate, animating in and of itself, etc.) one of these days.
That being said, I'll be updating y'all here on the process going from concepts and onward. There may be another poll with thumbnails potentially. The illustration itself will be done this month, however the animation process will likely take longer than that. If y'all are interested in seeing snippets of that, do let me know ^^!
