2024-09-25 15:45:36 +0000 UTCI guess the most credit I could possibly give Rubin on deciding to make The New Norm an "X, The Everything App" exclusive, is that he's not the first person to get that idea? WWE (somewhat surprisingly given the new management's commitment to shaking off the Vince Stink) signed a partnership deal with them in March for a weekly show with a 3 minute time limit gimmick, and set up a whole separate belt for it called the "WWE Speed Championship". I don't think they've ever displayed the belt in the regular TV shows, but they do mention it whenever the holder has a regular format match. No idea how successful this is since I'd have to go on Twitter to find out, but unlike with the least funny sitcom in existence, I guess I can see the appeal of a toilet break-sized dose of Sports Entertainment™️. They expanded it to add a women's league too in August, so apparently at least someone is watching. I guess when that site finally collapses they'll be able to get a better deal on a proven concept with Bluesky or whoever. I'd be fucking surprised if The New Norm outlives the site though, that has to be bottom feed even to the bottom feedees who sustain their cortisol levels on the daily wire's comedy offerings.
