I'm a VFX artist, and this is one of the most despicable things they made me do. Signed up 19 years ago to fly spaceships for Star Trek, but in 2015 I found myself putting logos into episodes of Teen Wolf. There is an actual quota of screen time that needs be met, and the logo needs be visible. No matter what. Night shot with nothing but headlights flaring at you? Just download a chrome logo, disregard all lighting, and plant it in the middle. Or they give me a long lens tracking shot from the side, and ask for the logo. You don't even see the license plate. So yeah I also didn't give a fuck, and just plant it big fat on the side like racing sticker, because of quota. Another common sponsor is AT&T, so that's why they script in pointless text messaging exchanges, just so the character can hold his phone up to the camera for a certain amount of time. And my VFX is typically to put full bars on the reception symbol. It's a fucking disgrace.
