Now grieving his mobility as well, he got unjustly fired and backstabbed by the local authorities he worked for, and to top it off, his mother-in-law (who still believes Rick was the one who killed Loretta) tried to use his spinal injury to rekindle the custody case and try to take Maggie away from him and FJ. A nervous breakdown ensued (because honestly wtf is his luck) and he decided that fighting the Grimport corruption on the down low actually wasn't doing anyone any favors and went full villain mode.
You can almost, ALMOST, see how this would be a somewhat understandable reaction, and to a degree, mayhaps it is. Unfortunately, Rick keeps forgetting that juggling a suburb dad life with secret crime diva existence only serves to traumatize him more, and he may be a big fella, but Grimport is FAR chonkier than him and cannot be fixed by one single man. My fucking guy also got far too comfortable with Kendle being "out of his life" and man... man is this messing about gonna cost him :,D
