BTW an unecessary life update but my house almost caught on fire today?? I mean it DID catch on fire lol, we had an open flame that fucked up a corner with everything in it and nearly got to the curtains :,D There was also a very small flood a few days before Christmas too, my dog was diagnosed, I'm on a roll hahaha
Tbh I take all of that not as a negative but rather "look how lucky you are that these minor things happened and didn't turn into a catastrophe" so I'm very happy everyone is safe. That being said, I do not want to attract the curse of fanfic writers whose chapters get postponed because they got hit by busses upon me, so like T.T I hope this is all 2024 AND 2025 have in store :,D
In some good news, my doggo's reacting to the heart meds really well!! He's been doing super well this past week so I'm hoping this is gonna be the fix he needed to keep on thriving

Yess it was probably at the worst possible spot but thank god we caught it on time ❤️ the house we live in thankfully has these fireresistent wall structures, so really the only damage that's left is a massive smoke stain, some scrunched up christmas lights, a destroyed phone and burned up christmas gnomes haha and like a black hole in the wooden cabinets, but considering the courtains and wires were black because the fire just NEARLY caught them - i'd say we're pretty fine ♡ AND OHH GOSH NICE!! you won't be disappointed with an ipad pro for sure ♡ they're such fine premium devices UGH, procreate is a dream to work in ❤️ i never tried toonsquid tho, that sounds fantastic!! I'll definitely look into it now that you've mentioned it, it sounds amazing, I seriously cannot wait to see your characters brought to life through animation 😍😍 And gosh I'm so glad my little grimporters have managed to make such a positive impact on you, that means more than I could ever say 🥹🫶❤️ AND OF COURSE, ANY TIME!! 2025-01-01 11:22:37 +0000 UTCNOOO it was also near cables???! 😰 Hopefully the repairs aren’t too extensive 💔 Did the fire do any damage to the actual house, or just the wood cabinet? AND YEEES I’M BEYOND EXCITED TOOO!!!! My plan is to stick with an iOS device since that’s just what I’m used to. If I can do it, I would really like to upgrade to an iPad Pro and use ToonSquid for animation!! I don’t have any plans of canceling Patreon anytime soon though, I swear the Grimport Misfits is the only thing keeping me going sometimes 😭🙏❤️ In addition to that, it just makes me so happy that I get to support such a special project as well <3 And broo that’s so so kind of you to offer, it would seriously mean the world to me if you could help me out with sourcing beginner tutorials and stuff like that 🥹💖 I’m aiming to have the new iPad by my birthday, so if I could still reach out for those things sometime around the end of April that would be such a huge help 💞💞 What you said makes sense about the in betweens too- I kinda figured it might look clunky if it was all sketched out, but I wasn’t sure haha

The fire happened on the wooden cabinets next to a million cables like millimeters from a row of courtains, and we stupidly put it down with water because we panicked so 😭 i think we got MEGA MEGA lucky our whole house didn't burn down 'cause if the courtains caught it, i have no idea what we would have done 🥲 so I feel being grateful is really the only thing we can do haha ❤️❤️ i totally agree it's so important, but it also really is deserved here since it could have been massively worse and it wasn't ❤️ thank you sooo much for your well wishes, it truly means a lot!! Esp for woofyy 🥹❤️ And omgg thank you!! I'm sooo glad these animations look professional, that genuinely means the world to me! 🥹❤️ and I rarely sketch out the inbetweens unless I'm gonna be handing out the whole animations for someone else to line out ❤️ for a job film I'm working on right now, I am sketching out the inbetweens just 'cause I won't be the one doing the final linework look, just the full animation! Usually i only sketch out the keyframes only to save up time, and tbh i almost find it more clunky to line out inbetweens if I have them sketched out! It's hard to pay attention to the sketch if you also have to worry about keeping the inbetweens neatly placed between your lined keyframes, so it's usually even benefitial to do them in linework stage! ❤️ OH MY GOSH THO!! WAITT THIS IS SO EXCITING!! 😍😍😍 PLSS i'm so happy for you broo, I hope you can actually afford it!! I got anxiety just from reading that 🫣 I can’t imagine how frightening it would be to witness a fire in your own house. You’ve got a great mindset around all those events though, because it definitely could’ve been a lot worse. Having gratitude is sooo important in life, I can’t stress that enough. I don’t know where I’d be if not for making an effort to practice gratitude haha And it’s great to hear that Woof is doing well on the new meds! I’m so happy for him 🥹💞 Ok ok, now on to the animation ✨ Seeing it come together is always so special to watch, even more so because your animations always look so professional in all the stages. Do you only sketch the key frames? Or do you ever sketch any of the in betweens? (Kinda asking because I may or may not be able to afford better art equipment in the new year so I miiight finally give animation a try at some point 👀) Also, side note, but that’s my favourite outfit on Rick hehe ❤️🔥 Something about the red lining of the coat makes it look dark and mysterious but also very fancy ❤️❤️

2024-12-30 17:25:39 +0000 UTCThank you sooo much!! ❤️ Omg and crows actually have a BUNCH of symbolic meanings here! - one is that they contrast doves, which is symbolically like FJ's bird. They dont appear a lot but Rick calls him his little dove ♡ - crows also have a bunch of meanings like death, future, afterlife, adaptability, transformation, destiny, etc - a lot of these meanings are almost paradoxes, like death and fortune, and Rick to me is a huge paradox, and his conflicting sense of identity is what the books really are about. The symbolisms of crows also coincidentally work for him too haha - they are often percieved negatively by society, as death bringers and a bad omen, which Rick has kind of been a victim of even before he really did anything wrong. To people in his home town, he was the son of a local aggressive drunk, and was shunned for it. In grimport, he was a scary soviet immigrant, and was also shunned for it. - people of Grimport hate crows generally because they're pests in the city. The grimport crows are slightly bigger than regular crows and adapted to the really dense buildings, so they practically destroyed all other species of birds and are mega aggressive haha so people just in general hate them and try to get rid of them when they can. Rick kinda related to them in that way, so he started feeding them and made some bird friends, noticing they really aren't half as bad - just hungry because Grimport really isn't a great place for an animal to be. There are a buunch more things but these are the main symbolic things that rick specifically has tied to the crows ❤️ birds in general hold a huge amount of symbolic moments in the books!
