I'm nearly done with the keyframes for the new animation so I'm hoping to share that maybe tomorrow if I polish it enough, but I'm also in a dire need to figure out my book illustrations style. I'll likely make a few portraits and some tests to figure something out!
The book covers are gonna be the usual rendered style but I need something similar to these colorpages for the actual-within-the-book illustrations and I kinnnda wanna make it a style between this and full render. I have no idea how to do that within a reasonable time, though, esp with the level of architecture I have in mind, so I'm gonna have to run a few tests cause these are three books with so many pages hahah
I'll update you how it goes!

2024-12-08 03:11:05 +0000 UTCOMGG I'M SO HAPPY YOU THIIINK SOOO 🥹❤️🥹❤️ it takes a biit more time but I feel it's just so much more effective than the past flat colors, it really makes them pop out a bit more i feel 🥹❤️ AAW HAHA no me too, I keep getting slapped back to reality when I draw him semi-young cause I keep adding grays and wrinkles no matter what, I'm so used to drawing him old too 😭🫶 AAA AND THANK YOUU HAHAH I'M so glad little details like that are being noticed 🥹❤️ i really hope the book illustrations are gonna be equally as good ❤️

Though the colorpaged are a bit of a jumbled mess ahha but the reading logic behind them is that you read from top to bottom, from left to right, if that makes sense. They're written almost like every colorpage is three comic pages slapped together - you start from the left, but read from the top to bottom. The versions on socials will be cropped in proper order so you can slide through them tho ❤️

I had to have a double take when I saw 1974 Rick though cause I’m so used to seeing him as an old man HAHA 😭❤️ And I just LOVE that little detail of how you made that bird flying in the distance look like a little heart between them!!! UGHH SO CUUUTE! I can’t imagine how awesome the book illustrations will be if they look anything like this 🥹💗
