The main programs used to create these animations are Clip Studio Paint (for the background painting), TV Paint Animation (main animation program), and Adobe After Effects (for final VHS effects and some basic compositing).
For anyone looking for alternatives, my advice would be to invest in Clip Studio Paint EX. It has an animation feature that really has all you can ask for, plus it's an incredible painting program that I will ALWAYS recommend. In combination with DaVinci Resolve (which has a free version), you can pretty much achieve this same result.
An even cheaper version would be Krita (a free program)!
As for my little breakdown, I animate on twos, which means I draw 12 frames per second, running at 24 fps. In this specific video, I tried really focusing on the motion, since a lot of the vids I usually do are heavily focused on just facial animations. The expressions are what I adore the most about art in general, but animation is also about motion, and it's good to stay in shape and do these full body movement exercises here and there haha

It’s so beautiful. It’s true, it’s always good to practice some expressions and dynamic poses to get that, amazing motion effect! You always blow it out of the water every time! Amazing!
