Capturing Likenesses
Added 2021-01-10 06:07:51 +0000 UTCContinuing art style explorations by trying to figure out how to draw IRL people, so I decided to practice drawing some Ru girls who follow me! Brita Filter, Blu Hydrangea, and Bob the Drag Queen - I gotta add Vixen and I'll be done.
I wish I could draw them more delicately bc my dream is to have a real ethereal art style, but I'm happy with the line representing the half and half nose I tend to do -- drawing an asymmetrical nose just doesn't work with IRL noses. I dropped the black eyes from the previous post as well, I fell out of love with them lol

Honestly the likeness with a strong sense of style is absolutely incredible. Every queen and look is instantly recognizable despite there being so few features and stuff represented. HOW? I really envy this particular skill. It's stunning. In terms of keeping your style but making it more ethereal, I was wondering if you have ever done some serious study of illustrators that specifically worked in a graphic design capacity rather than as illustrators or animators. The most obvious genre of that that I think about is art deco stuff but I'm sure there are a host of different options that might present some solutions that fit your already wonderfully developed style.
