Original "Something Series" Concept Art V1 (Production Insights #3)
Added 2022-04-26 11:01:01 +0000 UTCBack in August 2017, I made a post about a new series I was working on. I called it "Something Simple."
Each video was going to be a grayscaled, unpolished animatic in a very simple style with a certain gimmick that I won't say here.
The original version was going to be about a knight and a wizard, and there was another version about 3 space travelers going on an adventure (I'm not sure I ever posted the concept art for that one now that I think of it).
I spent a lot of time thinking of my own simple series to start on Youtube and the idea went through a lot of iterations until I came to the Something Series we know today!

But they eventually realized that not having portals in "Portal" 2 didn't make sense, so they shelved it and wouldn't say anymore for a decade. We finally learned what it was last year: a photo-taking mechanic, where you take a photo of one thing and can manipulate the photo then alter the environment or extract an object from the manipulated photo. I was trying to make a coy joke based on that and them being so secretive about it for so long. :P

It'd be interesting to get a glimpse of what might have been, not to mention how you today would tackle a concept of yesteryear.
