Chapter 115

Chapter 115: "Well, That’s New! Reversed Stars Formation!"

Land of Rain

The clouds gradually dispersed, and the bright sunlight shone down on the damp land.

**Konoha Encampment, Small Town**

"Kid, is this the jutsu you said could end the battle? You mean guiding heavenly thunder to strike yourself!?"

Inside the room, the recovered Tsunade scolded the still weakened Uchiha Yosuke with a sharp tone, while the others pretended not to notice.

Seeing how quickly Tsunade had returned to her lively self, Uchiha Yosuke couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy.

"The Senju Clan's constitution is truly enviable," he murmured.

The Uzumaki Clan's resilience was remarkable, but the Senju Clan’s physical traits seemed just as overpowered.

"Don’t change the subject!"

Tsunade snapped, irritated, while Uzumaki Kushina, standing beside her, wore a gloating expression, as though she, too, wanted to join in scolding him.

When Uchiha Yosuke turned his gaze toward Uchiha Mikoto, also resting weakly on a hospital bed, hoping for some support, Mikoto closed her eyes, pretending not to see anything.

Awkwardly, Yosuke chuckled. "Well, Tsunade-sister, this jutsu isn’t perfected yet…"

He tried to explain, scratching his head. After all, his so-called S-rank jutsu, **Kirin**, was still in the experimental phase. Even **Chidori**, the precursor, was barely a prototype.

The idea of "guiding lightning" wasn’t fully refined. For now, all he could do was direct it toward himself through his unfinished Chidori.

Tsunade, however, coldly smirked and retorted, "Do you even know what people are saying outside? They’re saying that Konoha’s genius ninja, Uchiha Yosuke, nearly fried himself with his own S-rank lightning technique..."

The battle with the Rain Ninja had taken a heavy toll on Konoha’s forces. This town was the nearest haven, so the injured had gathered here to recuperate.

As Tsunade berated Yosuke, Orochimaru’s raspy laughter echoed as he entered the room.

Yosuke's eyes lit up as if seeing a savior. Although Orochimaru’s pale complexion hinted he wasn’t fully recovered, he looked far better than Yosuke.

"Fufu, Yosuke-kun truly is a genius, thinking of such a technique," Orochimaru praised, his tone dripping with intrigue.

Unlike Tsunade, Orochimaru saw the beauty in the jutsu. He delved right into discussing its potential with Yosuke.

"This technique has a wide range, devastating power, and minimal chakra consumption—though that’s because you’re merely channeling a fraction of your chakra to summon the lightning. Yosuke-kun, to conceptualize such a technique is truly genius.

Harnessing the forces of nature... Although it has limitations, in a place like the Land of Rain, this jutsu is almost tailor-made for the environment. And even if others grasp the theory, without the Sharingan, they wouldn’t stand a chance at using it."

Orochimaru’s analysis was spot-on, and Yosuke couldn’t help but be impressed. "As expected of the future scientist, Snake-sensei!"

As Orochimaru continued, his enthusiasm grew: "Controlling lightning requires not only the incomplete Chidori to guide it but also the Sharingan to track its speed and trajectory. This jutsu is exclusive to the Uchiha Clan!"

Hearing this, Yosuke was momentarily stunned. Orochimaru’s keen eyes had dissected the jutsu thoroughly. Indeed, as Orochimaru pointed out, only powerful Uchiha with strong three-tomoe Sharingan could master this S-rank lightning technique.

"Yosuke-kun," Orochimaru said, narrowing his eyes. "When you first used this unfinished technique, you couldn’t control the lightning, right? You weren’t even targeting Hanzo directly—you were just luring his attack toward you."

Tsunade chuckled at this revelation, though her laughter was tinged with sarcasm.

"Of course," she said with a mocking tone, "Our Konoha genius is unlike ordinary ninjas. While others develop jutsu to hit their enemies, our genius tests his techniques on himself!"

Yosuke’s face turned beet red at her sarcasm, and Orochimaru merely shook his head with a pitying expression.

"What a shame," Orochimaru sighed. "But with Yosuke-kun’s talent, I’m confident you’ll perfect this jutsu soon—especially with Tsunade around."

At these words, Orochimaru smiled slyly, but Tsunade snorted coldly in response.

"My business is none of yours, Orochimaru."

Undeterred, Orochimaru continued to grin and turned back to Yosuke.

"Yosuke-kun, the war is nearing its end. White Fang’s successful assault on the Wind Country forced the Sand Ninjas to retreat. Their defensive lines in the Land of Rain have been breached, and the Third Kazekage has sent envoys to Konoha to negotiate.

Even the Rain Ninjas have halted their offensive and are discussing peace. Tsunade has been assigned to the rear to heal the wounded, so she’ll have plenty of time to teach you some ninjutsu..."

Hearing this, Yosuke froze. At first, he thought Orochimaru was teasing Tsunade, but he realized he had overestimated Orochimaru’s tact. Orochimaru was bluntly stating that Tsunade was being sidelined now that the war was ending.

"Orochimaru, it seems you’re not busy enough!" Tsunade snapped, her tone full of sarcasm. "This is a huge achievement! Rescuing Konoha from the war! Shouldn’t you and Jiraiya be off negotiating with the Rain Ninjas to secure your rewards from the village?"

Despite her biting sarcasm, Orochimaru seemed unbothered, licking his lips and looking at Yosuke with interest.

"Compared to the front lines, Yosuke-kun’s potential intrigues me more."

Yosuke felt a chill. If Orochimaru weren’t a man, he might have suspected… no, never mind!

"Orochimaru-sama, with Tsunade-sama here, Konoha’s ninjas will surely receive the best care," Yosuke interjected, offering Tsunade an out.

Orochimaru smirked and pulled out a thick scroll—from his mouth. The sight of it stunned Kushina.

"Yosuke-kun," Orochimaru said, "This is a collection of Lightning Release techniques I’ve gathered. It might help you perfect your jutsu. And if you’re willing, we could collaborate on this technique in the future."

Yosuke’s eyes widened in delight. This was Orochimaru—the man obsessed with learning all ninjutsu, not someone who’d steal ideas.

"Of course!" Yosuke exclaimed, smiling broadly. "I’ll compile all my notes and share them with you."

With Orochimaru gone, the room fell into an awkward silence. Even Kushina started peeling fruit nervously by Mikoto’s bedside.

Tsunade, lounging on a chair, crossed her legs and smirked at Yosuke.

"You’re usually full of words. Why so quiet now?"

Yosuke scratched his head, trying to placate her. "Tsunade-sister, this is all for the village’s sake. After all, everyone knows your medical skills are unmatched!"

"Bah!" Tsunade rolled her eyes. "They need us when there’s war, but the moment it ends, we’re sidelined. Don’t think I’m stupid enough not to notice their tactics."

Her frustrations echoed Konoha’s internal politics. Yosuke could only awkwardly nod.

And as he glanced at Tsunade, Kushina, and Mikoto, all looking at him with a mix of concern and exasperation, he realized something:

Somehow, the tables had turned. They weren’t the ones needing convincing; *he* was the one being lectured.

"Good grief," he muttered internally. "They’ve flipped the stars formation on me..."
