Added 2019-05-05 21:19:56 +0000 UTCIn this update, Sue now uses a "Foot Grind" finisher on Maris, more frequently as Maris's health gets lower. Also added some UI stuff including health bars, as well as a stun bar for close up animations.
Files have just been sent out. As a reminder, if you were declined or not charged(late) for April's post, you won't have received anything, in which case you can receive files next release.

2019-05-24 12:37:25 +0000 UTCThanks for the feedback. I wanted the camera panning and such, as something unique to this project. Will I apply it to other projects in the future? Perhaps. Certainly not all projects however, nor the ones currently in development, as they have a different focus. I had said I would implement more sounds sometime down the road, and that will come with other things as the game is refined.

While still early on, this project actually has me very interested in where things may go moving forward. I really like the close up transition style of this vs some of the other games you've done. The zoom into the move, the perspective change into the foreground and the small camera pan when initiating the foot grind are all wonderful touches that add a whole lot to the project as a whole and I really hope they become a standard thing for future projects. I also very much like the "Phases" for the added foot grind hold when it comes to animations. I hope this is something that can be added to the bear hug, and any future additions. Mechanically, I don't feel there should be as many hard stun meter resets are there are. Stomp chains can be impossible to break as it halts escape and rests the meter. I also feel for things like the foot grind, there should be one meter throughout which is determined by how low hp you are rather than resetting during phase shifts, especially if they can flash ahead in progress. I also feel for both the implemented 3 counts, neither should start until the character has depleted hp in total. In the case of the foot grind (and future holds that can end the bout) perhaps have a hp threshold where the final part of the "defeated" animation pops up. You did something similar to this with a few moves in Mighty Matsume. Small touches, some extra voice audio. Maris and Sue having different damaged sounds would be nice. Honestly, I wouldn't mind Sue not even having one for the bear hug slam personally. Some small light sounds for the bearhug squeeze, the foot grind, and Maris in the footgrind would be nice as well. I am aware this is a mini project and a WIP, but I feel anything I said here could easily be applied to any work you do in the future. I feel this is a very nice step in a great direction for your work.
