Now that Drake has your attention...

I had a conversation with a supporter a week or so ago, and I thought I should make my position on this Patreon thing clear.

Call me old fashioned, but I don't exactly believe in 'paid content'.  My whole deal with cosplay the whole time has been doing fansigns for free, doing birthday shoutouts for free, and doing shoots because I want to do them and posting them for free.  As such, I guess Patreon is really not a good platform for me.  I want to continue doing the things I do for free, for free.  I don't want to take previously free content and charge for it because let's face it, that seems like a dick move.  The one exception is my goal lingerie shoots, which are like rewards for hitting a Patreon goal so it seems fair to me that only those who helped to reach that goal should get the shoot.

If, like this person, you think my reward tiers are not worth your donations or not as good as my free content, just think of it as though your donation is going towards the better quality free content that you like, as it really is enabling me to do more and better cosplays.  If that doesn't work for you, then I'm sorry I don't know how to do Patreon properly and I won't be offended if you cancel your pledge.  I only ever set out to collect donations from those who just wanted to help me out, I'm not here to sell anything.  If you want to support me by buying something, then consider purchasing some of my prints.

I realize this got kind of long, but thank you for your time and understanding. <3

Yea, true. That was pretty vague. My bad. Just keep on doing what you're doing, and whoever can/wants to support you will. If they don't like it, who carrreesss. You like what you do and that is what matters.

If you can tell me how to please everyone in the world, by all means, I'd love to hear it. But until that happens 'make posts that won't disappoint people' is pretty vague and useless advice. The best I can do is tell people exactly what I'm here to do so they don't expect any more or less than that, and they can either tailor their expectations to what I am willing to provide or, as I said, they can cancel their pledge and support others that are more to their liking.

Though your normal posts are pretty nice, so you don't have to worry about anything.

Thank you for clearing that up! However I feel that it all comes down to this. If you don't want to disappoint people, make posts that will not disappoint them, lol.

Unfortunately these days a lot of cosplayers use Patreon to charge for premium content so that's become the norm rather than the exception. That's why I was hesitant to start one in the first place, and only did so at the insistence of a few people who wanted a more consistent way to help out than throwing me a bit in my paypal every once in a while. But I'm not out to disappoint anyone, so after this I wanted to make it clear to anyone else who felt this way that that's just not how I work, and if that's what they're looking for they should probably be supporting someone else.

Excuse me whilst I clear up this nosebleed... Ahem. I would've hoped that you wouldn't have to make this clear ): I've always seen Patreon as a way to support someone, not necessarily a way to obtain things you wouldn't without supporting. I'm happy to be supporting you now since I know my $10, whilst not a lot, is going towards seeing more cosplay. :3

I think that we should be grateful for all the free stuff we get from your FB and the other stuff we get for a few $ from here. You could honestly charge a lot since it obviously take a lot of time to make all these pictures. Keep doing what you like to do, we'll continue to support you. ^^

That's...quite a dumb thing for someone to say. You do what you want, and we'll do our best to support you in any way possible.

Some people just get weirdly upset about content they might not be getting, and they ignore the things that haven't actually changed.
