v6.2.4 Crash Fix -- Quick Edit to Credits.txt
Added 2025-03-27 13:01:57 +0000 UTCHi folks! Here with a quick update this morning. Some of you might've been experiencing MetalMercs crashing recently. I apologize. There is an easy fix though. Simply open the credits.txt file in your MetalMercs directory and change the phrase at the very bottom of the file from "Eagle Vanguard Orion" to "Eagle Vanguard Eternity".
Why Was it Crashing?
This was a feature left over from the very early development where I had the game track the date and if it hit a certain date without an update it was supposed to present a special message suggesting you update. However, since I never hit the date I never realized but that section of the code is out of date and crashes the game! (My bad!!)
I've attached a fixed version of the credits.txt file here and will be updating the file in the zip files so any future download of v6.2.4 won't have this problem. If you experience any other game crashing bugs please let me know and I'll work to fix them ASAP. Even though we will soon be moving forward from the PyGame build of the game I don't want to leave it in a broken state!
